Temperature and structure measurements of heavy-ion-heated diamond using in situ X-ray diagnostics

open access: yesMatter and Radiation at Extremes
We present in situ measurements of spectrally resolved X-ray scattering and X-ray diffraction from monocrystalline diamond samples heated with an intense pulse of heavy ions.

Heavyflavour measurements in PbPb collisions with ALICE at the LHC

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
The ALICE experiment studies the properties of the strongly-interacting matter created in high energy heavy-ion collisions, called Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP).

Sulfur‐Free Ultrahigh‐Refractive‐Index Polymers Enabled by Densely Packed Oxygen‐Bridged Dibenzofuran‐Cardo Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A new class of sulfur‐free, oxygen‐bridged dibenzofuran‐based polymers is developed for ultrahigh‐refractive‐index applications. The rigid π‐extended architecture and enhanced molecular polarizability enable exceptional optical performance, combining refractive indices up to 1.848 with high Abbe numbers and full visible transparency. This work offers a

Charge‐Tunable Coacervate Micelles for Separator Engineering in Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A separator engineering strategy based on charge‐tunable complex coacervate core micelles (C3Ms) is presented to form an ion‐selective layer regulating polysulfide transport in Li–S batteries. The micelles enable uniform adsorption onto commercial polypropylene separators and infiltration throughout the internal pore network, suppressing polysulfide ...

Factorization for jet production in heavy-ion collisions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We develop an Effective Field Theory approach for jet observables in heavy-ion collisions, where the jet is treated as an open quantum system interacting with a hot and dense QCD medium.

A coherent view of the quark-gluon plasma from energy correlators

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The ability to measure detailed aspects of the substructure of high-energy jets traversing the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) has provided a new window into its internal dynamics.

Quantal description of inelastic heavy-ion scattering

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 1976
Abstract A model Schrodinger equation for scattering with energy loss is discussed. The equation is linear and is closely related to the coupled-channels approach to elastic and inelastic scattering. A possible parametrization of the model for applications to heavy-ion scattering is considered.

Broadband Silicon‐On‐Glass Reflective Dielectric Metasurface for THz Beam Steering in 6G Wireless Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A CMOS‐compatible, all‐dielectric Silicon‐on‐Glass reflective metasurface enables low–loss terahertz wavefront control for future 6G wireless communication. Mie‐resonant silicon pillars provide full phase coverage near 500 GHz, achieving experimentally validated single‐, dual‐, and five‐beam steering with sub‐1.5° angular error and less than 3 dB ...

Open-charm production measurements with ALICE at the LHC

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
The LHC heavy-ion physics program aims at investigating the properties of strongly-interacting matter under extreme conditions of temperature and energy density where the formation of the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) is expected.

Сorrective phase in the approximation of space-time analysis with accounting interference in collisions of heavy ions

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2019
The aim of the work is to expand the approximation of the space-time analysis, which was previously used to describe binary elastic nucleon scattering reactions on nuclei and light ion collisions, to consider coherent effects in heavy ion collisions with
