Long-term cultures of murine fetal liver retain very early B lymphoid phenotype. [PDF]
Long-term cultures of murine fetal liver have been successfully established using a modification of our in vitro bone marrow culture system (14, 15).

Multivariate regular variation of heavy-tailed Markov chains [PDF]
The upper extremes of a Markov chain with regulary varying stationary marginal distribution are known to exhibit under general conditions a multiplicative random walk structure called the tail chain. More generally, if the Markov chain is allowed to switch from positive to negative extremes or vice versa, the distribution of the tail chain increment ...

Hypoxia promotes the epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) of renal tubular epithelial cells via the SIRT1‐FoxO1‐FoxO3‐autophagy pathway, thereby resulting in the fibrosis of renal tubular epithelial cells. Activation of SIRT1 or induction of autophagy inhibits this process, alleviating hypoxia‐induced fibrosis.

Decreased Thermal Conductivity of Polyethylene Chain Influenced by Short Chain Branching [PDF]
In this paper, we have studied the effect of short branches on the thermal conductivity of a polyethylene (PE) chain. With a reverse non-equilibrium molecular dynamics method applied, thermal conductivities of the pristine PE chain and the PE-ethyl chain are simulated and compared.

The Regulation of Trace Metal Elements in Cancer Ferroptosis
The induction of ferroptosis inhibits tumor growth, enhances anticancer efficacy, and overcomes drug resistance. Recent evidence shows nonferrous metal elements play a role in ferroptosis. This review focuses on how trace metals regulate ferroptosis processes like iron accumulation, lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant defense.

Functional immunoglobulin transgenes guide ordered B-cell differentiation in Rag-1-deficient mice [PDF]
We have examined the regulatory role of the individual components of the immunoglobulin antigen receptor in B-cell development by transgenic complementation of Rag-1 deficient (Rag-1⁻) mice. Complementation with a membrane µ heavy chain (µHC) gene allows

Further studies on an eleventh case of heavy (Hgamma1) chain disease--biosynthetic studies [PDF]
In vitro quantitative biosynthetic studies were carried out on bone marrow cells obtained from an eleventh case with gamma heavy chain disease. The findings indicate that neither cytoplasmic nor extracellular degradation was responsible for the presence ...

Multiple myeloma immunoglobulin lambda translocations portend poor prognosis
Multiple myeloma is frequently characterised by translocation of genes next to the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus. In this study, the authors sequence a large cohort of high risk myeloma samples and find translocations of cMyc to the immunoglobulin ...

From Damage to Functionality: Remanufacturing of Thrust Roller Bearings by Tailored Forming
Herein, the wear and fatigue behavior of repaired bearing raceways with a new powder alloy is investigated using a FE8 test‐rig and an oscillating tribometer. The tests are compared with industrial manufactured bearings to evaluate the repair quality. The repair can extend the service life of the repaired bearing to that of a new bearing and improves ...
