Heavy chain deposition disease: an overview
Clinical and Experimental Nephrology, 2013Heavy chain deposition disease (HCDD) is one of three entities of monoclonal immunoglobulin deposition disease, characterized histopathologically by the presence of nodular glomerulosclerosis and glomerular and tubular deposition of monoclonal heavy chains without associated light chains.

The Histopathology of γ Heavy-Chain Disease
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1982Gamma heavy-chain disease is a serologically determined entity, and the nature of the associated pathologic changes has remained in question. A review of eight cases from our institution and 66 cases previously reported in the world literature indicates that this disease has no specific histopathologic pattern.

Osteolytic gamma heavy chain disease
European Journal of Haematology, 1987We report a case of gamma heavy chain disease (GHCD) with several unique features: extensive osteolytic lesions simulating advanced multiple myeloma (MM), skin involvement, under the age of 40 yr, and the appearance of a series of pathological cells with indented or lobulated nuclei. The most remarkable feature is a previously unreported extensive bone

Abstract In this report we describe a new case of heavy chain disease, in which the serum M-component protein reacted with anti-IgD (δ monospecific) but not with other antisera of heavy or light chain specificity. Due to kidney lesion, the clinical course of this heavy chain disease was rapidly fatal.

The heavy chain disease is a “true” form of paraproteinemia. The existance of the μ, γ, and α heavy chain disease is well documented. The δ-type heavy chain seems to be a special form of a IgD-myeloma (20, 102). The immunochemical differences within the — μ, γ, α — are accompanied with specific clinical symptoms.

Heavy chain disease, rheumatoid arthritis and cryoglobulinemia
Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology, 1974Abstract Acase of double paraproteinemia—gamma-HCD protein and type-L IgG cryoglobulin—is described in a 30 year old patient with rheumatoid arthritis. Clinical and histopathological features of gamma-HCD were observed along with those of cryoglobulinemia and rheumatoid arthritis. The small size of the gamma HCD-protein (2.0 S) and the coexistence of

A New Case of Gamma-Heavy Chain Disease
Acta Haematologica, 1978The first case of gamma-heavy chain disease described in Spain is here reported. The patient, a 36-year-old woman, presented fever, enlarged regional lymph nodes, and hepatosplenomegaly, without bone marrow abnormalities but with lymphopenia. Serum electrophoresis did not disclose any M-component.

Heavy chain diseases: a retrospective study
Clinical Lymphoma Myeloma and Leukemia, 2015Background: Heavy chain diseases (HCD) are characterized by circulating monoclonal truncated heavy chains (MTHC) without associated light chains. As it is a rare disorder, we undertook a retrospective study aiming at describe their electrophoretic characteristics and the associated pathological conditions.

Gamma heavy chain disease and rheumatoid arthritis
Seminars in Arthritis and Rheumatism, 1989G AMMA HEAVY CHAIN disease (7HCD). is characterized by the presence of incomplete immunoglobulin heavy chains in serum and/or urine’; although often described as a lymphoproliferative disorder, it has a wide variety of clinical and pathologic features.*-5 More than 60 cases have been reported”’ since Franklin et al first described this condition in ...
