Kinetic study and Modeling of heavy Naphtha Catalytic Reforming process in AL-Daura Refinery

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Research and Studies, 2021
In the present work, kinetics and modeling of heavy naphtha catalytic reforming process in Al-Daura refinery-Midland refineries Company were studied. A proposed reaction scheme involving (15 pseudo components) connected together by a network of 30 reactions for components in the C6-C8+ range have been modeled. In the present work, kinetics and modeling

Building‐Scale Flood Hazard Modelling for Risk Assessment of Cultural Heritage

open access: yesJournal of Flood Risk Management, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Flooding is among the most frequent natural hazards threatening cultural heritage sites, yet current flood hazard studies often operate at urban or regional scales. While building‐scale damage models exist, they generally rely on flood depth inputs from large‐scale inundation models, inputs that may fail to capture the internal complexity of ...

Problems of Heavy Oil Transportation in Pipelines And Reduction of High Viscosity

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, 2015
Drag has long been identified as the main reason for the loss of energy in fluid transmission like pipelines and other similar transportation channels. The main contributor to this drag is the viscosity as well as friction against the pipe walls, which ...

Catalytic Conversion of Lower Olefins to Aromatics Using Zeolite‐Based Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Zeolite‐catalyzed upgrading of light olefins (C2–C4) into benzene, toluene, and xylenes (BTX) represents a sustainable route to aromatics. This review outlines thermodynamic and mechanistic aspects, the influence of acidity and textural properties of catalysts.

Toxicological Assessment of Heavy Straight Run Naphtha in a Repeated Dose/Reproductive Toxicity Screening Test [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Toxicology, 2013
Gasoline blending stocks (naphthas) are comprised of normal, iso- and cycloparaffins and aromatic hydrocarbons with carbon numbers ranging from C4 to C12. Heavy straight run naphtha (HSRN, CAS number 64741-41-9) was selected for toxicity screening because substances of this type contain relatively high levels (28%) of cycloparaffins by comparison to ...

What Is the Best Use of Biomass? A Harmonized LCA‐TEA Framework Quantifying Economic and Environmental Metrics for Bioenergy Pathways

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 5, May 2026.
A harmonized LCA and TEA framework evaluates 19 bioenergy pathways, quantifying carbon intensity (CI), minimum fuel selling price (MFSP), and marginal abatement cost (MAC). CCS reduces CI to net‐negative values and lowers MAC by up to 64%, with bioelectricity achieving the lowest MAC and liquid biofuels critical for hard‐to‐abate sectors.
