Radar Echo Recognition of Gust Front Based on Deep Learning
Gust fronts (GFs) belong to the boundary layer convergence system. A strong GF can cause serious wind disasters, so its automatic monitoring and identification are very helpful but difficult in daily meteorological operations.

Aerodynamic penalties of heavy rain on a landing aircraft [PDF]
The aerodynamic penalties of very heavy rain on landing aircraft were investigated. Based on severity and frequency of occurrence, the rainfall rates of 100 mm/hr, 500 mm/hr, and 2000 mm/hr were designated, respectively, as heavy, severe, and incredible.

Abstract Guidance from the Department for Education stipulates that permanent exclusions should only be used as a last resort and where there is potential for harm to come to anyone in the school setting. Suspensions are positioned as a tool to communicate to a pupil that their behaviour is in breach of the school's behaviour policy.

ABSTRACT Three categories of explanations exist for why we age: mechanistic theories, which omit reference to evolutionary forces; weakening force of selection theories, which posit that barriers exist that prevent evolutionary forces from optimising fitness in ageing; and optimisation theories, which posit that evolutionary forces actually select for ...

ABSTRACT The ecology of forests, their losses, and terrestrial wood decomposition dynamics have been intensively studied and reviewed. In the aquatic realm, reviews have concentrated on large wood (LW) in rivers and the transition from freshwater to marine environments in the Pacific Northwest of North America. However, a comprehensive global synthesis
