MODELING OF FLOODS IN GÜVENÇ BASIN, ANKARA USING HEC-HMS

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Water Science and Management, 2019
The study was carried out in Guvenc Basin which is within the Sakarya Basin in Ankara. The drainage area of the basin is 15.247 km². In this study, two hydrological models based on Geographic Information Systems, namely HEC-HMS and HECGeo-HMS, were used, and the results were compared with the output produced by using synthetic methods.

Hydrologic Modeling for Sedimentation in Hemrin Reservoir Using HEC-HMS

open access: yesDJES, 2018
Hemrin dam is an important dam in Iraq located on Diyala river which is considered as main tributary of Tigris. The sedimentation is very difficult problem and is considered the major problem affecting the utilization of the dam. HEC-HMS 4.1 software was used to made a simulation for sedimentation in Hemrin reservoir in order to estimate the amount of ...

Application of HEC-HMS for flood forecasting in Misai and Wan'an catchments in China

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2010
The hydrologic model HEC-HMS (Hydrologic Engineering Center, Hydrologic Modeling System), used in combination with the Geospatial Hydrologic Modeling Extension, HEC-GeoHMS, is not a site-specific hydrologic model. Although China has seen the applications

Event Based Modeling of a Watershed Using HEC-HMS

open access: yesEngineer: Journal of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka, 2010
Modeling a watershed can be very much useful to quantify water resources for effective system management. Rainfall runoff models are very much useful in forecasting floods, which will enable taking mitigation measures. Kalu-Ganga River basin in Sri Lanka is subjected to frequent floods.
