A Whole-Genome Sequencing Approach To Study Cefoxitin-Resistant Salmonella enterica Serovar Heidelberg Isolates from Various Sources

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 2017
This study characterized cefoxitin-resistant and -susceptible Salmonella enterica serovar Heidelberg strains from humans, abattoir poultry, and retail poultry to assess the molecular relationships of isolates from these sources in Québec in 2012 ...

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

Noninvasive Ph-telemetric Measurement of Gastrointestinal Function [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The purpose of this study was to gain experience with and validate the Heidelberg pH-telemetric methodology in order to determine if the pH-telemetric methodology would be a useful noninvasive measure of gastrointestinal transit time for future ground ...

Can The Majorana neutrino CP-violating phases be restricted ? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We reanalyze the constraints in neutrino masses and MNS lepton mixing parameters using the new data from the terrestrial (KamLAND) and astrophysical (WMAP) observations together with the HEIDELBERG-MOSCOW double beta decay experiment.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Genome Analysis and Multiplex PCR Method for the Molecular Detection of Coresistance to Cephalosporins and Fosfomycin in Salmonella enterica Serovar Heidelberg.

open access: yesJournal of Food Protection, 2019
Heidelberg is among the top three Salmonella enterica serovars associated with human foodborne illness in Canada. Traditional culture and antimicrobial susceptibility testing techniques can be time-consuming to identify Salmonella Heidelberg resistant to

Gribov's Confinement Scenario [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
I give a brief account of Gribov's scenario of supercritical charges in QCD. Gribov's equation for the Green function of light quarks and its derivation from the corresponding Dyson-Schwinger equation are described.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
