Homotopy Height, Grid-Major Height and Graph-Drawing Height [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
It is well-known that both the pathwidth and the outer-planarity of a graph can be used to obtain lower bounds on the height of a planar straight-line drawing of a graph. But both bounds fall short for some graphs. In this paper, we consider two other parameters, the (simple) homotopy height and the (simple) grid-major height.

ARE HEIGHTS AND HEIGHTS NORMALLY DISTRIBUTED? [PDF]

open access: yesPediatric Research, 1993
We measured heights and weights of 5056 children, from birth to 18 years of age, in the vicinity served by our hospital. On all children body mass index (BMI) was calculated (Kg/m2). Children younger than 3 years of age were measured in the recumbent position, older children were measured by an upright portable harpenden stadiometer.

Homotopical height [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics, 2014
Given a group G and a class of manifolds 𝒞 (e.g. symplectic, contact, Kähler, etc.), it is an old problem to find a manifold MG ∈ 𝒞 whose fundamental group is G. This article refines it: for a group G and a positive integer r find MG ∈ 𝒞 such that π1(MG) = G and πi(MG) = 0 for 1 < i < r.

Evolution of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists for the treatment of type 2 diabetes

open access: yesСахарный диабет, 2017
Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) are a class of antidiabetic drugs developed over the past 15 years. GLP-1, a gastrointestinal peptide hormone that contributes to the postprandial “incretin effect”, stimulates ...

Relationship between Height and Arm-Span of Elderly Persons in a Rural Area of Ballabgarh, Haryana

open access: yesIndian Journal of Medical Specialities, 2022
Background: Progression in age causes gradual loss in height due to degenerative osteoporotic changes in bones and decrease in the disc space. Hence, proxy measures of height are required in elderly persons.

Live Weight and Bone Growth from Birth to 23 Months of Age in Holstein–Friesian, Jersey and Crossbred Heifers

open access: yesDairy, 2022
Selection pressure for greater milk solid production, calving ease and early puberty attainment has resulted in the alteration of the growth trajectory of New Zealand dairy heifers.

Variations in male height during the epidemiological transition in Italy: A cointegration approach

open access: yesDemographic Research, 2023
