Mycoplasma genitalium lipoproteins inhibit tumour necrosis factor α-induced apoptosis in HeLa cells
This aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Mycoplasma genitalium lipoproteins on the tumour necrosis factor α (TNF-α)-induced apoptosis in HeLa cells. We separated the M.

Circular DNA's from HeLa cell nuclei and mitochondria
An electron microscopic observation was made on the DNA's extracted from purified HeLa cell nuclei, mitochondria, and the whole cell, and fractionated by ethidium bromide-cesium chloride density gradient method or sucrose density gradient method. Nuclear

Escherichia coli cytolethal distending toxin blocks the HeLa cell cycle at the G2/M transition by preventing cdc2 protein kinase dephosphorylation and activation [PDF]
Cytolethal distending toxins (CDT) constitute an emerging heterogeneous family of bacterial toxins whose common biological property is to inhibit the proliferation of cells in culture by blocking their cycle at G2/M phase.

Functional cdc25C dual-specificity phosphatase is required for S-phase entry in human cells
In view of the common regulatory mechanism that induces transcription of tie mitotic phosphatase cdc25C and cyclin A at the beginning of S-phase, we investigated whether cdc25C was required for S-phase transit.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

EFFECT OF DACTYLARIN ON HELA CELLS
Dactylarin is a new antiprotozoal antibiotic which also exhibits cytotoxic activity. The decrease of mitotic index in treated HeLa cells indicates that the antibiotic inhibition is expressed prior to mitosis. Dactyiarin inhibited the progression or G2 cells into mitosis.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Mitotic block and delayed lethality in HeLa epithelial cells exposed to Escherichia coli BM2-1 producing cytotoxic necrotizing factor type 1 [PDF]
The cytopathic effect (CPE) of Escherichia coli producing cytotoxic necrotizing factor type 1 (CNF1) was investigated by using a human epithelial cell (HeLa) model of infection with CNF1-producing E. coli BM2-1. This strain was shown to bind loosely, but
