A review of helical milling process
International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, 2017Abstract Helical milling is an alternative hole-making machining process which presents several advantages when compared to conventional drilling. In the helical milling process, the tool proceeds a helical path while rotates around its own axis.

Helical milling of CFRP–titanium layer compounds
CIRP Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology, 2008Helical milling is used to generate boreholes by means of a milling tool being operated on a helical path into the workpiece. The bore diameter can be adjusted through the diameter of the helical path. In comparison to conventional drilling operations this process often results in lower burr formation and fiber delamination.

Prediction of cutting forces in helical milling process
International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2011The prediction of cutting forces is important for the planning and optimization of machining process in order to reduce machining damage. Helical milling is a kind of hole-machining technique with a milling tool feeding on a helical path into the workpiece, and thus, both the periphery cutting edges and the bottom cutting edges all participated in the ...
