Neural Network Adaptive Attitude Control of Full-States Quad Tiltrotor UAV

open access: yesAerospace
The control stability and accuracy of quad tiltrotor UAVs is improved when encountering external disturbances during automatic flight by an active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) parameter self-tuning control strategy based on a radial basis ...

Adolescent Reports of Demanding and Responsive Features in Helicopter and Overprotective Parenting: Divergence of Correlations With Indicators of Adjustment

open access: yesJournal of Adolescence, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Research collecting data from parents has found that helicopter parenting (HP) and overprotective parenting (OP) of their adolescents can be reformed to identify two features: demanding and responsive overparenting (Ryan et al. 2024).

Abdominal POCUS Education for Clinicians: A Systematic Review of Teaching Methods for Point‐of‐Care Abdominal Ultrasonography

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 53, Issue 3, Page 547-561, March/April 2025.
For patients to benefit from abdominal point‐of‐care ultrasound, the ultrasound examinator must be sufficiently trained. In this systematic review, we identified advantages and disadvantages of different training methods and approaches. We conclude that thoughtful integration of the various educational methods is crucial for stakeholders and educators.

Habitat characteristics along spring migration routes of elk, mule deer, and pronghorn in the southern San Juan Mountains

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
We evaluated habitat characteristics of spring migration routes and stopover sites for adult female elk (Cervus canadensis), mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus), and pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) in the San Juan Mountains (2021–2022) and found species‐specific differences in vegetation structure, terrain, and proximity to land cover types relative to ...

Experimental and field evidence indicate that islet‐nesting tundra birds experience reduced nest predation and benefit indirectly from high snow goose densities

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Landscape features can shape the occurrence and strength of predator–prey interactions by influencing predation risk and prey distribution. In the High Arctic, some bird species select nesting sites with physical features that impede access for their main terrestrial predator, the Arctic fox.

Numerical Analysis of Aerodynamic Performance of Low Tip‑Speed Rotors with Gurney Flaps

open access: yesNanjing Hangkong Hangtian Daxue Xuebao
To explore the potential for increasing lift on low tip-speed rotors, a rotor performance calculation model is established. The flight data of the UH-60A helicopter are utilized to validate this model.

Exploring consumer preferences for wild meat and other animal proteins in Gamba, Gabon: Implications for conservation and management of natural resources alongside extractive industry

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract The town of Gamba in southwest Gabon represents an exceptional example of how the development of an extractive industry (in this case oil production) may impact wild meat consumption in an area of global importance for biodiversity. Studies in the 1990s identified an active wild meat trade; however, no studies have been undertaken since, and ...
