Spectroscopic survey of faint planetary-nebula nuclei

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Our ongoing spectroscopic survey of faint planetary-nebula nuclei (PNNi) has revealed 30 new hydrogen-deficient central stars. The majority of them (21) belong to the PG1159 spectral class (having He-C-O-dominated atmospheres).

Detection of hot subdwarf binaries and He-poor hot subdwarf stars using machine learning methods and a large sample of Gaia XP spectra

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Context. Hot subdwarfs (hot sds) are compact evolved stars near the extreme horizontal branch, and they are key to understanding stellar evolution and the UV excess in galaxies.

Multiphase Shock Cooling Emission in Ultrastripped Supernovae

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Ultrastripped and Type Ibn supernovae (USSNe and SNe Ibn, respectively) are fast-evolving, hydrogen-poor transients that often show signs of interaction with dense circumstellar material (CSM). S. C. Wu & J.
