Shield materials recommended for space power nuclear reactors [PDF]

open access: yes
Lithium hydride is recommended for neutron attenuation and depleted uranium is recommended for gamma ray attenuation. For minimum shield weights these materials must be arranged in alternate layers to attenuate the secondary gamma rays efficiently.

Helium Filled Bubbles in Solids : Nucleation, Growth and Swelling

open access: yes, 2012
When nuclear fuel, fabricated for the purpose of transmuting spent fuel is irradiated, significant amounts of He is produced from alpha particles mainly emitted when 242Cm decays into 238Pu. From irradiation experiments it is known that the presence of He in the solids alters the swelling behaviour of the material.

Laboratory Investigation to Assess the Impact of Pore Pressure Decline and Confining Stress on Shale Gas Reservoirs

open access: yesMehran University Research Journal of Engineering and Technology, 2018
Four core samples of outcrop type shale from Mancos, Marcellus, Eagle Ford, and Barnett shale formations were studied to evaluate the productivity performance and reservoir connectivity at elevated temperature and pressure.

Space Transportation System (STS) propellant scavenging system study. Volume 2: Supporting research and technology report [PDF]

open access: yes
The technology effort required for the development of a propellant scavenging system is identified. For a cryogenic propellant system, the development tests identified are for a cryogenic capillary acquisition system for zero-g feedout capability and for
