Multiple Copies of a Simple MYB-Binding Site Confers Trans-regulation by Specific Flavonoid-Related R2R3 MYBs in Diverse Species

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
In apple, the MYB transcription factor MYB10 controls the accumulation of anthocyanins. MYB10 is able to auto-activate its expression by binding its own promoter at a specific motif, the R1 motif.

Catherine de' Medici and the Forest of Orleans: Queenly Participation in Early Modern French Forest Management

open access: yesRenaissance Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract This essay demonstrates how a gender‐informed, more‐than‐human lens can provide new ways to analyse how the role of a queen in forestry management was conceptualised by sixteenth‐century professional men. It explores these ideas as they are presented in a work published by Guillaume Martin, Lieutenant General of the forests and waterways of ...

DAS HANDWERK DES ERZÄHLENS. POETOLOGISCHE ENTWÜRFE IN UWE TIMMS ALLE MEINE GEISTER

open access: yesGerman Life and Letters, Volume 79, Issue 2, Page 259-280, April 2026.
Abstract Uwe Timm's autobiographical story Alle meine Geister, published in 2023, describes how Timm became an author. The story unfolds through explicit and implicit reflections on the nature and art of oral and written storytelling, against the backdrop of the author's apprenticeship and self‐employment as a furrier in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Mapping a candidate gene (MdMYB10) for red flesh and foliage colour in apple

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2007
Background Integrating plant genomics and classical breeding is a challenge for both plant breeders and molecular biologists. Marker-assisted selection (MAS) is a tool that can be used to accelerate the development of novel apple varieties such as ...

Redox‐aktivierte Sonden für Hochkontrastige Live‐Bildgebung Postsynaptischer Neuronaler Gerüste

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 11, 9 March 2026.

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 11, 9 March 2026.

Gene Editing and Transformation Strategies for Engineering Drought‐Tolerant Legumes

open access: yesLegume Science, Volume 8, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Legumes play a vital role in agriculture, nutrition, and the economy, but their production faces significant threats. Among these, drought and its unpredictability will be the most damaging constraint in the coming decades. Enhancing drought tolerance is essential for resilient and sustainable legume cultivation, and genetic engineering ...

The draft genome sequence of European pear (Pyrus communis L. 'Bartlett').

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
We present a draft assembly of the genome of European pear (Pyrus communis) 'Bartlett'. Our assembly was developed employing second generation sequencing technology (Roche 454), from single-end, 2 kb, and 7 kb insert paired-end reads using Newbler ...

Potential Drivers of Successful Biocontrol: A Perspective on Parasitoids

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Zoology, Volume 53, Issue 1, March 2026.
Parasitoids are central to classical biological control, yet predicting their long‐term effectiveness post release remains challenging. In Aotearoa New Zealand, three Microctonus (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) species have been used against pest weevils, but key aspects of their biology remain poorly understood.
