Resilience of Breeding Boreal Waterbirds to Harsh Wintering Conditions: Could Climate Warming Smooth Population Declines?

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Due to global climate change, wintering conditions of open water‐dependent waterbirds have become milder in central‐western Europe. We found that breeding populations of most waterbird species in northern Europe are resistant to cold winters, and this pattern was not associated with long‐term population trends. Results suggest that breeding populations

Americano, straniero. Il caso Monte Hellman

open access: yes, 2009
Saggio introduttivo di carattere generale sul cinema di Monte Hellman. Si discute in particolare della riflessione hellmaniana sui mitologemi fondanti l'identità americana (non solo nel cinema) e il legame che il suo cinema ha con i modelli desunti ...

Efficient ID-based certificateless signature scheme

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2008
Using gap diffie-hellman (GDH) groups, an efficient ID-based certificateless signature scheme was proposed, which could solve the key escrow problem through binding two partially public keys with a same identity.

Incorporating Freeze–Thaw Adaptations Into the HBV Model for a High Arctic Permafrost Catchment: Benefits and Limitations

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 6, June 2026.
Freeze–thaw adaptations for the bucket‐type HBV model were applied to the permafrost‐dominated Fuglebekken catchment in SW Spitsbergen. The adaptations allow the model to better capture the complex hydrological dynamics of a non‐stationary environment.

Unveiling Marine Vesicle Uptake in Vibrio spp: Taxonomic and Environmental Insights

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
Extracellular vesicles are involved in diverse functions in nature from microbial interactions to pathogenesis. Here, we investigate whether taxonomy represents a boundary that constrains the uptake of vesicles between different marine bacteria including ubiquitous Vibrio spp. involved in marine organism diseases, such as corals.

Reinventing EDHOC for the Post-Quantum Era

open access: yesIEEE Access
Several lightweight protocols are being developed to secure communication in resource-constrained environments. Ephemeral Diffie-Hellman over COSE (EDHOC) plays a key role in this lightweight protocol family by managing the key establishment process ...

Atom Probe Tomography‐Based Analysis of Residual Trace Elements in Advanced Metallic Materials

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Residual trace elements inherited from raw materials strongly influence the mechanical and environmental performance of advanced metallic alloys and recycling materials due to preferable boundary/interface segregation and resultant embrittlement effects, yet their parts per million level concentrations pose significant challenges to ...
