I want to thank CMAJ for publicizing that most domestic and imported snow sport helmets currently do not meet the Canadian Safety Association’s (CSA) standards for preventing concussion and withstanding multiple impacts.1 On Mar. 19, 2007, I tabled Private Member’s Bill C-412 that would prohibit the advertising, import or sale of recreational snow ...

Kevlar is traditionally modeled as a rigid‐rod polymer, yet rheological behavior deviates from this assumption. The review introduces a novel “twist‐tie” entanglement theory for aramid polymer chains in the nematic liquid crystal state, providing a molecular explanation for deviations from rigid‐rod models. Understanding twist‐tie entanglement dynamics

Helmet Laws, Helmet Use, and Bicycle Ridership [PDF]
To assess bicycle helmet laws' effect on helmet and bicycle use among U.S. high school students in urban jurisdictions.Log-binomial models were fit to Youth Risk Behavior Survey data from five jurisdictions. Adjusted helmet and bicycle use proportions were calculated with post-regression marginal effects.

ABSTRACT This paper presents the results of an integrated archaeological and geophysical investigation conducted between 2018 and 2024 at the newly discovered Picenian and Roman necropolis of Contrada Nevola (Corinaldo, Marche, Central Italy), identified in the framework of development‐led archaeology. The research strategy combined aerial photography,

Characteristics of Sensitive Scalp in French Women and Comparison With Scalp Dermatoses
ABSTRACT Background A sensitive scalp is a particular location of sensitive skin, characterised by the occurrence of unpleasant sensations which cannot be explained by a skin disease. Design of an 8‐Channel Transmit 32‐Channel Receive 11.7T Head Coil and Evaluation of SNR Gains
ABSTRACT Purpose To design and develop an 8‐channel transmit 32‐channel receive 11.7T head coil for the strongest human MRI scanner to date, demonstrate safety, and evaluate signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) gains compared to 7T, the most used ultra‐high‐field (UHF) platform.

Hydrolytic aging in seawater produces markedly different mechanical responses among commercial Aramid fibers. While some fibers exhibit progressive degradation, others maintain stable or even improved tensile behavior. Experimental yarn‐scale testing combined with mathematical degradation modeling and Arrhenius‐based lifetime prediction provides new ...
