Infections with Hemadsorption Virus in University of Wisconsin Students

New England Journal of Medicine, 1960
Two recently discovered viruses of the myxovirus family termed hemadsorption Types 1 and 2 have been studied as causes of respiratory diseases in children under ten years old.1 , 2‡ One or the other has been isolated from 6.2 per cent of 1654 children hospitalized with respiratory infections in Washington, D.

Hemadsorption in cardiac surgery: myth against reality

open access: yesMinerva Anestesiologica, 2019
Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) surgery determines an unpredictable activation of a systemic inflammatory response induced by extrinsic and intrinsic factors.once activated by the extracorporeal circuit, this may lead to a dysregulation of inflammatory homeostasis, with increased levels of both pro-inflammatory — interleukin 1β (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis ...

Pumpless Extracorporeal Hemadsorption Technique (pEHAT): A Proof-of-Concept Animal Study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Medicine, 2022
Background: Extracorporeal hemadsorption eliminates proinflammatory mediators in critically ill patients with hyperinflammation. The use of a pumpless extracorporeal hemadsorption technique allows its early usage prior to organ failure and the need for ...

Effects of Circulating HMGB-1 and Histones on Cardiomyocytes–Hemadsorption of These DAMPs as Therapeutic Strategy after Multiple Trauma

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Medicine, 2020
Background and purpose: The aim of the study was to determine the effects of post-traumatically released High Mobility Group Box-1 protein (HMGB1) and extracellular histones on cardiomyocytes (CM).

Hemadsorption in Critically Ill Children

2023
Application of extracorporeal blood purification in children is increasing with the improvement of technology and the broadening of indications in critically ill patients. Furthermore, novel devices are being made available with a miniaturized design to be applicable to pediatric machines and circuits.

Removal of dabigatran using sorbent hemadsorption

International Journal of Cardiology, 2019
The Redual PCI trial has demonstrated the safety of dabigatran and ticagrelor or clopidogrel combination in preventing strokes in patients with atrial fibrillation. There was 15.4% risk of hemorrhage in the dabigatran/ticagrelor or clopidrogel arm, lower than that of triple therapy with warfarin, aspirin and ticagrelor or clopidogrel.

Rubella immunity testing by mixed hemadsorption

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1980
A mixed hemadsorption (MH) test for naturally acquired rubella immunity and immune responses after rubella vaccination has been compared with the hemagglutination-inhibition (HI) test, the immunodiffusion (ID) test, the neutralization test (NT), the hemolysis-in-gel (HIG) test and the indirect immunofluorescence (IF) test. The MH test was approximately
