Hemadsorption of WT and C596S HN proteins.

open access: yes, 2013
Hemadsorption was assayed by measuring the hemoglobin absorbance at 540 nM.The values shown are the average of three experiments performed in duplicate.

Can the reduction of cytokines stop the progression of sepsis? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Objective: In this study, we aimed to analyze the laboratory and clinical results of cytokine hemadsorption as an immunomodulation therapy in ICU patients diagnosed with sepsis or septic shock.

Comparative Analysis of African Swine Fever Virus Genotypes and Serogroups

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2015
African swine fever virus (ASFV) causes highly lethal hemorrhagic disease among pigs, and ASFV’s extreme antigenic diversity hinders vaccine development. We show that p72 ASFV phylogenetic analysis does not accurately define ASFV hemadsorption inhibition

Successful use of haemoperfusion therapy in an adult horse with hepatic encephalopathy and cholangiohepatitis

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, Volume 38, Issue 6, Page e307-e314, June 2026.
Summary A 4‐year‐old, 520 kg, American Quarter Horse broodmare, approximately 90 days in foal, was presented to Texas A&M University Teaching Hospital for suspected liver disease. Based on clinicopathological values and hepatic abnormalities noted ultrasonographically, the mare was presumptively diagnosed with cholangiohepatitis.

Extracorporeal cytokine hemadsorption for the treatment of refractory septic shock. Report of two cases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Indexación: Scopus. If Septic shock (SS) evolves to refractory SS, mortality could reach 90%, despite giving an optimal treatment. Nowadays, extracorporeal devices which adsorb inflammatory cytokines are available, reducing the systemic inflammatory ...

Hemadsorption to Sections of Virus-Infected Tissues

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1964
SummaryFrozen tissues infected with vaccinia, NDV and influenza were sectioned. The sections were incubated in a slide-chamber with 1% suspensions of RBC derived from various species. Hemadsorption to infected tissue sections occurred with RBC agglutin-able in the test tube by the infecting virus. Other RBC did not hemadsorb.

Subtle Genetic Shifts of African Swine Fever Virus Among Vietnamese Domestic Swine Following Live‐Attenuated Vaccine Commercialization

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Since its first incursion in 2019, African swine fever (ASF) has remained a constant threat to the Vietnamese swine industry. The nationwide commercialization and implementation of live‐attenuated vaccines (LAVs), alongside depopulation‐repopulation efforts, necessitate a critical assessment of whether these strategies have driven inadvertent changes ...

Cytosorb use in postoperative treatment of a patient with infective endocarditis [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Journal of Anesthesia and Intensive Therapy, 2018
We report of a 39 years old male patient who was admitted to hospital for a surgical treatment of endocarditis of the prosthetic aortic valve. Just after surgery, he had developed a severe inflammatory response with acute kidney and liver injury. Because

Successful Nonsurgical Management of Clostridium perfringens Sepsis With Massive Intravascular Hemolysis and Liver Abscess: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Infectious Diseases, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Background: Clostridium perfringens is an anaerobic, Gram‐positive, spore‐forming bacterium, commonly associated with gas gangrene and clostridial myonecrosis. Although bacteremia is rare, it carries a high mortality rate, particularly when complicated by massive intravascular hemolysis.

Hemagglutination and Hemadsorption of Measles Virus

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1961
SummaryEvidence has been presented to show that concentrated measles virus in presence of monkey red blood cells will demonstrate the phenomenon of hemagglutination. Baboon kidney propagated measles virus yielded higher levels of hemagglutinin than measles virus grown in other primate tissue.
