Experimental Evidence of the Long-Term Survival of Infective African Swine Fever Virus Strain Ba71V in Soil under Different Conditions

open access: yesPathogens, 2022
The survival of African swine fever virus (ASFV) on different matrices and its infectivity in wild as well as domestic swine is still a matter of interest.

Quantitative Assessment of Hemadsorption by Myxoviruses: Anti-Immunoglobulin G Hemadsorption-Inhibition Test [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Microbiology, 1973
A quantitative hemadsorption-inhibition test was developed to estimate myxovirus serum antibodies within 24 h by determining the serum dilution inhibiting hemadsorption in 50% of the infected cells. The test depends on the interactions of virus-infected cell monolayers with antiviral serum and of the resultant complexes with antiimmunoglobulin G serum.

Endotoxin hemadsorption in septic shock

open access: yesIndian Journal of Critical Care Medicine, 2014
The mid-20th century heralded an era of broad spectrum antibiotics that provided us with the false notion that we could treat resistant strains of organisms. We, however, continue to see an increase in both morbidity and mortality due to sepsis despite adherence to the latest surviving sepsis guidelines, which stress on early resuscitation of shock ...

Research progress of hemadsorption and its anticoagulation technology

open access: yesLinchuang shenzangbing zazhi
Hemadsorption, generally including hemoperfusion and plasma-adsorption, is one of the common blood purification technologies. It removes pathogenic solutes in blood or plasma through activated carbon or resin in the adsorption column, thus achieving the ...

Targeted therapy using polymyxin B hemadsorption in patients with sepsis: a post-hoc analysis of the JSEPTIC-DIC study and the EUPHRATES trial

open access: yesCritical Care, 2023
Background Polymyxin B hemadsorption (PMX-HA) reduces blood endotoxin levels, but characteristics of patients with sepsis likely to benefit from PMX-HA are not well known. We sought to identify patient subgroups likely to benefit from PMX-HA.

Anomalous Hemadsorption by Cell Cultures.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1965
SummaryChicken RBC's in the presence of calcium ion or after treatment with metaperiodate were absorbed by cultured primary and stable line monkey kidney cells and to a lesser extent by rabbit kidney cells. An extensive variety of other primary or stable cell lines of human or animal origin did not adsorb the cells.
