Two patients with hemangiosarcoma of the heart are reported. Both patients presented with hemopericardium and congestive failure. They ran a prolonged febrile course with marked elevations of the serum lactic dehydrogenase but near normal levels of the serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase.

A 4-year-old cow initially examined because of hindlimb lameness had a waxing and waning course of illness for 31 weeks. Signs included lameness, swelling of the affected limb, and intermittent fever, and anorexia. Radiography and bacterial culturing suggested osteomyelitis. Terminally, there was peracute anemia and dyspnea.

Primary hemangiosarcoma of the mediastinum
Lung Cancer, 1996A case of a 44-year-old female who had an intrathoracic mass that was found to be a hemangiosarcoma of the anterior mediastinum is reported. Radical surgical incision through a right anterior thoracotomy was performed, followed by post-operative radiotherapy.

Disseminated hemangiosarcoma in a horse
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1988A 6.5-year-old horse with a history of exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage was admitted because of acute onset of epistaxis, dyspnea, high respiratory rate, pale mucous membranes, and dark feces. There was no clinical or laboratory evidence of a bleeding disorder, and the horse's anemia was considered to be secondary to pulmonary hemorrhage.
