Enormous hemangiosarcoma of the heart

This report describes a 26-year-old patient with hemangiosarcoma of the heart and summarizes the clinicopathological features in previous reports of patients with cardiac angiosarcoma. The patient was admitted to our hospital because of a syncope and one episode of nocturnal dyspnea and hemoptysis.

These are rare malignant bone tumors of the lining of blood vessels. Locally they have an aggressive behavior whith local enlargement and can spread out very quickly. Treatment is based on wide or radical surgical resection.

[Splenic hemangiosarcoma].

The authors present a case of splenic hemangiosarcoma which was encounter-a group including some 600 splenectomies. Hemangiosarcomas represent only 3% of all malignant splenic tumours. This clinical observation is of particular interest because of the extreme rarity of such cases.
