The analysis of initial cranial CT of early hematoma enlargement in spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage

open access: yesChinese Journal of Contemporary Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2012
Objective To investigate the predictive effect of initial cranial CT on early hematoma enlargement in spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage. Methods Three hundred patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage within 6 hours after onset were studied ...

Quantitative hematoma heterogeneity associated with hematoma growth in patients with early intracerebral hemorrhage

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2022
BackgroundEarly hematoma growth is associated with poor functional outcomes in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). We aimed to explore whether quantitative hematoma heterogeneity in non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) can predict early ...

Outcome of intracerebral hemorrhage associated with different oral anticoagulants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Objective: In an international collaborative multicenter pooled analysis, we compared mortality, functional outcome, intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) volume, and hematoma expansion (HE) between non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulation-related ICH ...

Microglial Membranes Wrapped Ultrasmall Medium‐Entropy Ru Single‐Atom Nanozyme: Enhanced Catalysis for Accelerating Inflammation/Redox Microenvironment Regulation in Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PtRhIr/Ru SAN@M nanozymes cross the blood–brain barrier and selectively accumulate in hemorrhagic brain regions. By mimicking multiple enzyme activities, they attenuate oxidative stress, modulate microglial polarization toward an anti‐inflammatory phenotype, inhibit ferroptosis, and promote neuronal repair.

Association of Surgical Hematoma Evacuation vs Conservative Treatment With Functional Outcome in Patients With Cerebellar Intracerebral Hemorrhage.

open access: yesJournal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), 2019
Importance The association of surgical hematoma evacuation with clinical outcomes in patients with cerebellar intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) has not been established.

Targeting the Nrf2-Heme Oxygenase-1 Axis after Intracerebral Hemorrhage. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
BACKGROUND: Injury to cells adjacent to an intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is likely mediated at least in part by toxins released from the hematoma that initiate complex and interacting injury cascades.

Variants in AKR1D1 and Infant Mortality: Should Bile Acid Screening be a Routine Part of Newborn Screening?

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biallelic pathogenic variants in AKR1D1 cause Δ4‐3‐oxosteroid 5β‐reductase deficiency, disrupt bile acid synthesis, and result in Congenital Bile Acid Synthesis defect type 2 (CBAS2). CBAS2 presents in infancy with cholestasis, coagulopathy, and failure to thrive.

Revisiting Incomplete Tissue‐Level Reperfusion Following Successful Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Among patients with acute ischemic stroke achieving successful large vessel recanalization (defined as expanded Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction [eTICI ≥2b]), incomplete tissue‐level reperfusion, distinct from visually identifiable distal occlusion on digital‐subtraction angiography, remains a significant challenge.

Enhancement of Hematoma Clearance With CD47 Blocking Antibody in Experimental Intracerebral Hemorrhage.

open access: yesStroke, 2019
Background and Purpose- Our previous studies found that erythrocyte CD47 has a role in regulating hematoma resolution following experimental intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).

Transforming Brain Health With Neurotechnology Convergence (Part II): Intelligent Neurointervention Systems for Neurological Disorders

open access: yesBrain Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neurological disorders represent a critical domain within global health, necessitating advanced interventions to address complex pathologies such as tumors, functional disorders, and cerebrovascular diseases. Despite the proven benefits of early intervention, current treatment paradigms face significant challenges: (1) limited precision in ...
