Multifunctional liposomes remodeling tumor microenvironment for enhancing Hemoporfin‐mediated photodynamic therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, Volume 3, Issue 4, December 2025.
BSO/CAT@Liposomes‐Hemoporfin nanoparticles could significantly enhance the ROS levels in cells in vitro and tumor model in vivo, which is attributed to the increasement of Hemoporfin in the tumor, depletion of GSH, and enhancement of local oxygen concentration.

Enhanced Sonodynamic Bacterial Elimination and Wound Healing Therapy Based on Lanthanide Ion Doped Bi2WO6 Nanosheets and Hydrogel Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 48, November 26, 2025.
Lanthanide ytterbium ions are introduced into Bi2WO6 nanosheets to boost ROS generation under US stimulation. These ytterbium‐doped Bi2WO6 nanosheets serve as efficient sonosensitizers, enabling broad‐spectrum bacterial eradication. To improve biocompatibility for in vivo sonodynamic therapy, the sonosensitizers are integrated into hydrogel matrix ...

Hematoporphyrin Derivative Photoradiation Therapy in Managing Nevoid Basal-Cell Carcinoma Syndrome: A Preliminary Report

open access: yes, 1984
• Hematoporphyrin derivative (HpD) is a photodynamically active dye that is preferentially retained by malignant tissues and initiates a cytotoxic reaction when exposed to red light.

Photodynamic therapy for extramammary paget’s disease: A retrospective analysis of 15 cases

open access: yesPhotodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy
Background: Extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD) is a rare cutaneous malignancy. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has shown promise as a treatment option for various skin cancers, including EMPD.

Selective Uptake of Hematoporphyrin Derivative into Human Cerebral Glioma

open access: yes, 1990
The uptake of hematoporphyrin derivative (HpD) into human cerebral glioma was measured using a porphyrin extraction technique. Patients with cerebral glioma were injected with HpD at a dose of 5 mg/kg body weight 24 hours before surgery and ...

Intravesical hematoporphyrin photodynamic therapy combined with pirarubicin for intermediate and high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer: A multicenter, prospective single-arm cohort

open access: yesPhotodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy
Introduction: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been investigated as an alternative treatment modality for non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC); however, its clinical application has been limited due to lack of high-quality evidence.

Absorption spectrum of Hematoporphyrin Derivative in vivo in a murine tumor model

open access: yes, 1994
Time-resolved reflectance was used to measure the absorption spectrum of hematoporphyrin derivative (HpD) in vivo in a murine tumor model. Reflectance measurements were performed in the 600-640 nm range on mice bearing the L1210 leukemia.

Hematoporphyrin Photoradiation Therapy for Intraocular and Orbital Malignant Melanoma

open access: yes, 1984
• Photoradiation therapy (PRT) is a new technique that is currently under investigation for the treatment of a variety of solid malignant tumors. The technique involves systemic administration of hematoporphyrin derivative (HpD), a photosensitizing ...

Topical administration of hematoporphyrin derivative and red light irradiation. A therapeutic approach in psoriasis

open access: yes, 1988
A controlled trial of topical photochemotherapy of plaque-type psoriasis using hematoporphyrin derivative (HPD) in combination with red light (590-700 nm) was performed on 8 patients.

Cellular uptake, subcellular localization and photodamaging effect of Temoporfin (mTHPC) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells : comparison with hematoporphyrin derivative

open access: yes, 2000
Temoporfin (meta-tetra (hydroxyphenyl)chlorin; mTHPC) potentiated a 100-fold higher cytotoxic effect than hematoporphyrin derivative (HPD) on two nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell lines (HK1 and CNE2) in terms of the overall photodynamic therapy (PDT) dose ...
