Engineering of a multifunctional hemicellulase
Biotechnology Letters, 2009To engineer a multifunctional xylan-degrading enzyme, a chimera was created by fusing the xylanase domain of the Clostridium thermocellum xylanase (xynZ) and a dual functional arabinofuranosidase/xylosidase (DeAFc; from a compost starter mixture) through a flexible peptide linker.

Wetstorage of Bagasse with Hemicellulase
Advanced Materials Research, 2012In this paper, the effect of hemicellulase treatment on the properties of bagasse and treatment liquor was investigated, and the chemical components of bagasse after optimized hemicellulase treatment were compared with those of wet-stored bagasse.

Hemicellulases in the bleaching of chemical pulps
1997Hemicellulase-aided bleaching is the first full-scale biotechnical application in the pulp and paper industry which truly exploits the unique specificity and safety of biocatalysts. Hemicellulases are used to modify the structure of xylan and glucomannan in pulp fibers in order to enhance the chemical delignification.

Characterization of hemicellulases from thermophilic fungi
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 2012The thermophilic fungi Thermomyces lanuginosus, Malbranchea cinnamomea, Myceliophthora fergusii and the thermotolerant Aspergillus terreus were cultivated on various carbon sources, and hemicellulolytic and cellulolytic enzyme profiles were evaluated. All fungi could grow on locust bean galactomannan (LBG), Solka floc, wheat bran and pectin, except T ...
