Self‐Immolative Activatable Nanoassembly toward Immuno‐Photodynamic Therapy in TME

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quinone methide‐gated, self‐immolative, H2O2‐responsive nano‐photosensitizer (Pyz/PS) is developed for targeted immuno‐photodynamic therapy. Pyz/PS selectively activates within tumor microenvironments, restores photosensitizer activity, generates ROS, and depletes intracellular GSH, enhancing oxidative stress.

Transition of hemoglobin between two tertiary conformations: The transition constant differs significantly for the major and minor hemoglobins of the Japanese quail (Cortunix cortunix japonica) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We demonstrate that 5,5′-dithiobis(2-nitrobenzoate) – DTNB – reacts with only CysF9[93]β and CysB5[23]β among the multiple sulfhydryl groups of the major and minor hemoglobins of the Japanese quail (Cortunix cortunix japonica).

Engineered Interface and Spatial Arrangement of Inorganic Components for Dendrite‐Free Li Anodes in Carbonate‐Based Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A solid‐state ion exchange strategy constructs dentrimental Li2CO3 into a high‐modulus, high‐surface‐energy interface to enable dendrite‐free deposition of Li metal anode in the harsh carbonate‐based electrolyte. Abstract The practical application of lithium metal batteries (LMBs) in carbonate‐based electrolytes is hindered by uncontrolled lithium (Li)

Association between hemoglobin-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio and cognitive function in older US adults: a cross-sectional study based on the NHANES 2011–2014

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience
IntroductionThe hemoglobin-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio (HRR) is acknowledged as a promising new prognostic biomarker. Nevertheless, investigations into its connection with cognitive function have yielded unclear results.AimThis study aimed

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Water Sorption: The Importance of Framework Physical Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the water‐vapor stability of 2D covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with varying pore sizes. Results reveal microporous COFs demonstrate superior stability compared to mesoporous ones, despite lower water uptake. Mesoporous keto‐enamine‐linked COFs show enhanced stability due to intralayer hydrogen bonds, confirmed by simulations and

Structural and Functional Analysis of Hemoglobin Binding to the Peritrophic Matrix During Blood Digestion in Aedes aegypti

open access: yesInsects
The Aedes aegypti mosquito is responsible for transmitting pathogens such as the Dengue, Zika, and Chikungunya viruses. The peritrophic matrix (PM) is an extracellular chitin-rich structure that lines the midgut of arthropods, providing a crucial ...
