Lipidemia in the Setting of Hemolysis [PDF]
A 30-year-old man with a history of polysubstance abuse was found agitated and vomiting by a friend. Emergency medical services personnel administered midazolam and transported him to the emergency department (ED). In the ED, he received dexamethasone and antibiotics empirically for meningitis. He also received propofol in addition to the 50 μg · kg−3 ·

Analysis on Evaluation Method of Mechanically-Induced Hemolysis of Medical Devices
Mechanically-induced hemolysis is an important index for evaluating the blood compatibility of medical devices. It mainly evaluates the risk of mechanical hemolysis under simulated clinical use conditions of medical devices.

Investigating the effect of turbulence on hemolysis through cell-resolved fluid-structure interaction simulations [PDF]
Existing hemolysis algorithms are often constructed for laminar flows that expose red blood cells to a constant rate of shear. It remains an open question whether such models are applicable to turbulent flows, where there is a significant variation in shear rate along cell trajectories. To evaluate the effect of turbulence on hemolysis, we perform cell-

Shape Optimization of hemolysis for shear thinning flows in moving domains [PDF]
We consider the $3$D problem of shape optimization of blood flows in moving domains. Such a geometry is adopted to take into account the modeling of rotating systems and blood pumps for instance. The blood flow is described by generalized Navier-Stokes equations, in the particular case of shear-thinning flows.

PeptideBERT: A Language Model based on Transformers for Peptide Property Prediction [PDF]
Recent advances in Language Models have enabled the protein modeling community with a powerful tool since protein sequences can be represented as text. Specifically, by taking advantage of Transformers, sequence-to-property prediction will be amenable without the need for explicit structural data.

Immune hemolytic anemia is a rare adverse effect of ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin, which is a commonly used antibiotic. We describe a 60-years-old lady, a case of community-acquired pneumonia, who developed severe hemolysis after the first dose of ceftriaxone. Her hemoglobin dropped from 9.6 g /dl to 5.5 g /dl.

Comparison of Methodologies to Detect Low Levels of Hemolysis in Serum for Accurate Assessment of Serum microRNAs. [PDF]
microRNAs have emerged as powerful regulators of many biological processes, and their expression in many cancer tissues has been shown to correlate with clinical parameters such as cancer type and prognosis.
