Gold Nanoclusters as Smart Nanoplatforms for Targeted Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
A folic acid‐targeted gold nanocluster platform is developed for tumor‐specific delivery and radiofrequency (RF)‐triggered release of doxorubicin. Enhanced uptake, nuclear localization, and therapeutic efficacy are confirmed in 2D and 3D spheroid models.

Embracing Complexity: Peptides as Tunable Scaffolds in the Construction of Discrete Supramolecular Systems

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The inherent chirality, tunability, biocompatibility, and robustness of peptides provide an exciting opportunity for supramolecular chemistry. In this mini‐review, we explore uses of peptides in discrete supramolecular systems, how chemists can draw inspiration from larger biological assemblies, and discuss how embracing the complexity of peptide ...

Nanoparticles Functionalized with Polymer Brushes for Gene Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
The engineering of the next generation gene delivery vectors requires the precise control of the architecture and physicochemical interactions controlling the transport, targeting, uptake, and release of nucleic acid materials to targeted cells. Polymer brush‐functionalized nanomaterials offer unprecedented control over such design and properties, and ...

Non‐Amphiphilic Antimicrobial Polymers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Completely non‐amphiphilic antimicrobial polymers (APs) that possess significant bioactivity and excellent selectivity are presented. The importance of hydrogen‐bonding interactions is highlighted by segregation of APs on bacterial membrane models and bacteria, a behavior absent in amphiphilic polymers.
