This study develops a nano‐enzyme patch (ezPatch) targeting bone interfaces. Utilizing ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer (LMCT) catalysis and bone‐targeting ligands on copper nanosheets, ezPatch simultaneously scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and generates oxygen in situ at bone‐losing sites.

Hemolytic Activity of Antimicrobial Peptides
Methods in molecular biology, 2016For antimicrobial peptides to be interesting for systemic applications, they must show low toxicity against erythrocytes. In this chapter, we describe a protocol for measuring the ability of AMPs to lyse human red blood cells, using melittin as positive control.

New indolicidin analogs with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and low hemolytic activity.
Peptides, 2020To create a broad-spectrum peptide biocide, we synthesized 45 analogs of antimicrobial peptide indolicidin (H-Ile-Leu-Pro-Trp-Lys-Trp-Pro-Trp-Trp-Pro-Trp-Arg-Arg-NH2).

Hemolytic activity of Serratia marcescens
Archives of Microbiology, 1985A cell-bound hemolytic activity was found in several strains of Serratia marcescens. One Serratia cell per ten erythrocytes was sufficient to cause complete lysis of human erythrocytes within 2 h in the liquid assay. The hemolytic activity resided in the membrane fraction and could be inactivated by incubating cells with proteases.
