Aunque la hemorragia intraparenquimatosa espontánea (HPI) representa menos del 20 % de los casos de accidente cerebrovascular, continúa estando asociada con la mortalidad más alta de todas las formas de accidente cerebrovascular y tasas de morbilidad sustanciales.
