Progress of Immune‐Inducible Biomaterials for Post‐Ablation Cancers

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The presence of residual tumors after ablative therapies poses a significant challenge, generally resulting in recurrence and metastases. This review offers a concise overview of immune‐inducible biomaterials from the perspective of the cancer‐immunity cycle, and how they enhance antitumor immunity through diverse mechanisms following ablative ...

Nanocarrier‐Based Targeting of Pattern Recognition Receptors as an Innovative Strategy for Enhancing Sepsis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent progress in nanocarriers targeting pattern recognition receptors (PRRs), including Toll‐like and NOD‐like receptors, for enhancing the treatment of bacterial sepsis and related complications. These nanomedicines deliver antibiotics and anti‐inflammatory agents while modulating immune responses.

THE ROLE OF BLEEDING HISTORY AND CLINICAL MARKERS FOR THE CORRECT DIAGNOSIS OF VWD

open access: yesMediterranean Journal of Hematology and Infectious Diseases, 2013
Quantification of the bleeding severity by use of bleeding assessment tools (BAT) and bleeding score (BS) has been consistently shown to improve the clinical diagnosis of von Willebrand disease (VWD) while helping researchers establish phenotype/genotype

Inflammasomes in Tissue Damages and Immune Disorders After Trauma

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
Trauma remains a leading cause of death worldwide. Hemorrhagic shock and direct injury to vital organs are responsible for early mortality whereas most delayed deaths are secondary to complex pathophysiological processes.

Investigation on the Influence of Protein Corona and Platelet Adhesion on Storage Bag Surface on the Platelet Storage Lesion

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Platelet quality deteriorates during storage due to protein and platelet adhesion to current bag materials. Here, polymer coatings are identified that reduce adhesion and translated them to mini‐storage bags. Platelet quality are not impacted, despite significantly reducing adhesion.

Mitochondrial Transplantation via Magnetically Responsive Artificial Cells Promotes Intracerebral Hemorrhage Recovery by Supporting Microglia Immunological Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A type of magnetically responsive artificial cells (ACs) has been developed, demonstrating the loading of mitochondria and self‐enclosure processes to ensure the protection of mitochondrial transport via the bloodstream. The treatment with ACs effectively transplanted mitochondria around the lesion, thereby improving neurological recovery by supporting

Intracerebral hemorrhage and sleep-disordered breathing

open access: yesSleep Medicine, 2018
Limited data are available on sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) following intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Our aim was to characterize the objective measures of post-ICH SDB and questionnaire-reported pre-ICH sleep characteristics, overall and by ethnicity.Participants with ICH who were enrolled in the population-based Brain Attack Surveillance in Corpus

P2X7 Receptor-Associated Programmed Cell Death in the Pathophysiology of Hemorrhagic Stroke

open access: yesCurrent Neuropharmacology, 2018
Hemorrhagic stroke is a life-threatening disease characterized by a sudden rupture of cerebral blood vessels, and cell death is widely believed to occur after exposure to blood metabolites or subsequently damaged cells.

Sonodynamic and Bioorthogonal Sonocatalytic Thrombotic Therapy Based on AIE Cationic Tetranuclear Ir(III) Complex Nanoplatform Guided by NIR‐Chemiluminescence Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
AIE‐active tetranuclear Ir(III) complex Ir‐4 as a sonosensitizer/sonocatalyst is formulated into a nanoplatform with an H2S donor. Ir‐4@S‐R NPs achieves combined endogenous NIR chemiluminescence imaging, sonodynamic therapy and release of H2S in situ by a bioorthogonal sonocatalytic reaction in vivo, achieving safe thrombolysis and anti‐inflammatory ...
