Multi-Scale Photoacoustic Assessment of Wound Healing Using Chitosan–Graphene Oxide Hemostatic Sponge

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
Hemostasis is vital to save lives, reducing risks of organ failure and hemorrhagic shock. Exploring novel hemostatic materials and precise monitoring of the hemostatic status is of great importance for efficient hemostasis.

Study on the Compositional Analysis, Extraction Process, and Hemostatic and Anti-Inflammatory Activities of Cirsium japonicum Fisch. ex DC.Cirsium setosum (Willd.) MB Extracts

open access: yesMolecules
Cirsium japonicum Fisch. ex DC. (CF) and Cirsium setosum (Willd.) MB (CS) are commonly used clinically to stop bleeding and eliminate carbuncles. Still, CF is mainly used for treating inflammation, while CS favors hemostasis. Therefore, the present study

T2* Magnetic Resonance Imaging Uncovers Hemosiderin Burden in Pediatric Hemophilia: A Call for Sensitive Imaging Biomarkers

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hemophilic arthropathy remains the leading morbidity in hemophilia despite modern prophylaxis, and early joint damage may be missed by routine exams. This study explored T2* MRI as a noninvasive biomarker of hemosiderin deposition in pediatric hemophilia.

Validity of microporous polysaccharide hemispheres as a hemostatic agent in hepatic injuries: an experimental study in rats Validade de hemosferas microporosas de polissacarídeos como agente hemostático em ferimentos hepáticos: estudo experimental em ratos

open access: yesActa Cirúrgica Brasileira, 2007
INTRODUCTION: In the treatment of hepatic injuries, there is not always adequate and secure hemostasis. A hepatic biopsy is indispensable in the evolution of focal or diffuse liver cell disease, being necessary for candidates for liver transplant and ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
