Gelatin as a hemostatic agent

open access: yesJournal of obstetrics and women's diseases, 1898
The property of gelatine to coagulate blood is specified in 1896 by Dastre and Floresco. The resulting gelatinous blood coagulation is able to organize itself quickly. The author, together with Cornil, experienced the nutritious and absorbent properties of gelatine and other protein substances (by marking pieces of sponge wetted in these substances, in

Bleeding‐Mimetic Damage‐Detecting and Self‐Healing Modular Skin for Inflatable Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A damage‐detecting and self‐healing system inspired by the human bleeding mechanism is developed for inflatable structures, using a liquid conductive elastomeric material enclosed in a small pouch. This material, composed of uncured elastomer, its curing agent, conductive particles, and a dispersant, solidifies only after being exposed to air and ...

Red Blood Cell‐Induced Bacterial Margination Improves Microbial Hemoadsorption on Engineered Cell‐Depleted Thrombi, Restoring Severe Bacteremia in Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A highly efficient extracorporeal device for treating bacteremia is developed by integrating microfluidic bacterial margination and engineered cell‐depleted thrombi strategically constructed in the device. The rodent models, severely infected with antibiotic‐resistant bacteria, recover from bacteremia after two subsequent extracorporeal blood ...

A Mitochondria‐Targeted Nanozyme Platform for Multi‐Pathway Tumor Therapy via Ferroptosis and Cuproptosis Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reports a mitochondria‐targeted nanozyme platform, MIL‐Cu1.8S‐TPP/FA, which induces potent cuproptosis via localized delivery of Cu1.8S nanodots to mitochondria. Surface‐anchoring these nanodots onto MIL‐88B metal‐organic frameworks enhances both passive and active tumor targeting.
