Fabrication of nanocelluloses from hemp fibers and their application for the reinforcement of hemp fibers

Industrial Crops and Products, 2013
Abstract A novel fabrication has been employed to produce nanocelluloses from natural fibers (hemp) and the developed nanocellulose was then used as “coupling agent” to modify hemp fibers themselves. The size distribution of nano-particles (nanocellulose) was measured by nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA).

Hemp Fibers: Old Fibers - New Applications

open access: yes, 2014
Hemp (Cannabis sativa) was most likely the first plant cultivated by mankind for its textile use. Currently, the interest in hemp is focused on its use as a raw material for the production of environmentally friendly clothes, technical textiles and composite materials.

Impact of a microwave treatment of hemp fibers on the hemp / cement interaction

2020
As the need to reduce grey energies is growing, materials such as hempcrete are in development. The thermal and acoustic insulation it offers, combined with the very low carbon footprint of hemp make it a first choice material. However, the great amount of hemp in hempcrete, combined with de weakness of the interface fibers/cement binder leads to poor ...

Preparation and characterization of silver-loaded hemp fibers with antimicrobial activity

open access: yesFibers and Polymers, 2014
The objective of this research was to impart antimicrobial properties to hemp fibers by incorporation of silver ions in hemp fibers by chemisorption. Sorption properties of hemp fibers were improved by non-selective oxidation using hydrogen peroxide and ...

Modeling the tensile strength of hemp fibers and short-hemp-fiber reinforced composites

2015
Ecological and economical considerations foster replacement of man-made fibers by natural renewable fibers in various industrial applications. Proper description of the scale effect of fiber strength is important for theoretical estimation of the load-carrying capacity of their products.

OPTIMIZATION OF THE DELIGNIIFICATION PHASE OF HEMP FIBER

Herald of Technological University, 2023
Cellulose is used in almost all industries. The replacement of cotton cellulose, which is an imported product, with a domestic product is one of the most important problems. The use of industrial hemp and flax should be recognized as a priority direction of research in the search for alternative sources of raw materials. Flax and hemp straw contains in
