Digestive Diseases and Sciences, 2008Henoch-Schonlein Purpura (HSP) is the most common systemic vasculitis in childhood. The diagnostic criteria include palpable purpura with at least one other manifestation -- abdominal pain, IgA deposition, arthritis or arthralgia, or renal involvement.

British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1984Henoch-Schonlein purpura is a relatively common syndrome that is associated with gastrointestinal symptoms, polyarthritis, erythemato-urticarial rashes and acute glomerulonephritis. A case is reported in which the initial manifestation was orofacial purpura.
