Presence of two different bovine hepacivirus clusters in Germany

Transboundary and Emerging Diseases, 2018
During the last years, genetic information of hepaciviruses (family Flaviviridae), whose type species is the human hepatitis C virus, was detected in a wide range of primates and non-primate vertebrates. Here, samples collected from 263 German cattle kept in 22 different holdings were analysed for the presence of hepacivirus N (syn. bovine hepacivirus;

[Analysis of genetic polymorphisms and drug resistance mutations in the NS5 region of HCV genome (Flasuviricetes: Amarillovirales: Flaviviridae: Hepacivirus C) in samples obtained in 2022-2023 from HIV-infected treatment-naive residents of Altai Krai].

Voprosy virusologii
INTRODUCTION Altai Krai is a region with an unfavorable situation of HIV-1 and HCV infection, as well as HIV-1 and HCV coinfection. Due to this, it is necessary to study the HCV genetic variants and their drug resistance (DR) to direct-acting antivirals (

Design and non-viral delivery of live attenuated virus vaccine to prevent chronic hepacivirus (HCV-like) infection 3916

Journal of Immunology
The development of an effective prophylactic vaccine for hepatitis C virus (HCV) is an unmet medical need. We described that rat HCV-like virus (RHV) infection in laboratory rats recapitulates the life-long hepatotropic infection and dysfunctional ...

NGS amplification panel HCV-seq for sequencing hepatitis C virus RNA (Flaviviridae: Hepacivirus).

Voprosy virusologii
INTRODUCTION Hepatitis C is a pressing global public health issue. The high variability of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) complicates its whole-genome sequencing; most studies sequence only specific regions of the genome.

Concerted synergy between viral-specific IgG and CD8+ T cells is critical for clearance of an HCV-related rodent hepacivirus

Hepatology
Background and Aims: Evidence assessing the role of B cells and their antibodies, or lack thereof, in the spontaneous resolution of acute HCV infection is conflicting.

Complete genome sequence of a novel bovine hepacivirus from Yunnan, China

Archives of Virology, 2020
We detected a novel bovine hepacivirus N (HNV) subtype, IME_BovHep_01, in the serum of cattle in Tengchong, Yunnan, China, by high-throughput sequencing. The complete genome of IME_BovHep_01, was sequenced using an Illumina MiSeq sequencer and found to be 8850 nt in length, encoding one hypothetical protein.

Identification of a mimotope of a complex gp41 human immunodeficiency virus epitope related to a non-structural protein of Hepacivirus previously implicated in Kawasaki disease

bioRxiv
Current HIV vaccine strategies are hampered by difficulty with recapitulating heavily mutated broadly neutralizing antibodies. We have previously isolated a highly mutated antibody termed “group C 76-Q13-6F5” (6F5) that uses immunoglobulin heavy chain ...

Hepacivirus and the “new triade” : Further evidence for in utero transmission of equine hepacivirus to foals

2019
Equine hepacivirus (EqHV), also referred to as non-primate hepacivirus (NPHV), infects horses —and dogs in some instances— and is closely related to hepatitis C virus (HCV) that has infected up to 3 % of the world’s human population, causing an epidemic of liver cirrhosis and cancer.

Learning about Hepatitis C from Lung-Infecting Canine Hepacivirus

Microbe Magazine, 2011
Dogs can be infected by a hepatitis C-like hepacivirus, a newly discovered virus that is expected to yield insights into the workings of the hepatitis C virus (HCV), according to Amit Kapoor of the Columbia University Center for Infection and Immunity (CII) in New York City. “HCV research has been hampered by the belief that hepacivirus replication was
