Safe standard remnant liver volume after hepatectomy in HCC patients in different stages of hepatic fibrosis

open access: yesBMC Surgery, 2021
Background To determine the standard remnant liver volume (SRLV) threshold to avoid postoperative hepatic insufficiency inpatients in different stages of hepatic fibrosis who undergo right hemi-hepatectomy.

Pemt Inhibition‐Mediated Vdac1 Oligomerization Regulates Mitochondrial Dysfunction, Apoptosis, and Inflammation in High‐Fat Diet‐Derived Liver Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT High‐fat diet (HFD)‐induced hepatic injury represents a pathology observed across vertebrates, yet the underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Herein, the present study identifies phosphatidylethanolamine methyltransferase (Pemt), a key enzyme in phosphatidylcholine synthesis, as a critical regulator of mitochondrial homeostasis ...

CD11b+CD43hiLy6Clo splenocyte‐derived macrophages exacerbate liver fibrosis via spleen–liver axis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
A population of splenic monocytes migrate into the liver and shift to macrophages, which account for the exacerbation of liver fibrosis. Abstract Background and Aims Monocyte‐derived macrophages (MoMFs), a dominant population of hepatic macrophages under inflammation, play a crucial role in liver fibrosis progression.

Understanding the impact of neurologic complications in patients with cirrhosis

open access: yesSAGE Open Medicine, 2019
Patients with cirrhosis may experience neurologic complications, including hepatic encephalopathy. Hepatic encephalopathy may be classified as covert (mild symptoms (e.g. lack of awareness)) or overt (moderate to severe symptoms (e.g. confusion or coma)),

FEATURES OF CEREBRAL HEMODYNAMICS AND MANIFESTATIONS OF HEPATIC ENCEPHALOPATHY IN CIRRHOSIS OF VIRAL ETIOLOGY AT DIFFERENT COMPENSATION STAGES WITH PRESERVED LEFT VENTRICULAR EJECTION FRACTION

open access: yesРациональная фармакотерапия в кардиологии, 2017
Aim. To study the features of the parameters of cerebral hemodynamics in extra and intracranial regions in viral hepatic cirrhosis A, B, C classes according to Child-Pugh with different serum levels of interleukin-2, interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis ...

Stiffness‐Activated Stellate Cells Drive Pancreatic Cancer Liver Colonization via GMFG‐TNS4 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fibrotic liver stiffness activates hepatic stellate cells through Piezo1‐dependent calcium influx and ER stress, promoting EV‐associated GMFG release. Delivered GMFG engages TNS4 in pancreatic cancer cells, triggering FAK/AKT signaling, adhesion, and fatty acid synthesis.

Emergence of highly profibrotic and proinflammatory Lrat+Fbln2+ HSC subpopulation in alcoholic hepatitis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Lrat+ quiescent hepatic stellate cells (qHSC) give rise to Lrat+Fbln2+ activated HSC (aHSC) in alcohol‐associated hepatitis and this subpopulation is highly profibrotic, inflammatory, and immunoregulatory based on their single cell transcriptomic profile. Abstract Background and Aims Relative roles of HSCs and portal fibroblasts in alcoholic hepatitis (

Serum hyaluronate as a non-invasive marker of hepatic fibrosis and inflammation in HBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Background: HBV infection is a serious global heath problem. It is crucial to monitor this disease more closely with a non-invasive marker in clinical trials.
