THE STUDY OF FREE RADICAL PROCESSES AND THE CONTENT OF CYTOKINES IN LIVER ECHINOCOCCOSIS
. The purpose of this study is to investigate the activity of lipid peroxidation and oxidative modification of proteins, determination of nitric oxide in relation to the content of cytokines in hepatic echinococcosis in humans before and after surgical ...

Mathematical Model and Analysis of Transmission Dynamics of Hepatitis B Virus [PDF]
Hepatitis B is a potentially life-threatening liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). In this paper, the transmission dynamics of hepatitis B is formulated with a mathematical model with considerations of different classes of individuals, namely immunized, susceptible, latent, infected and recovered class.

Primary pancreatic hydatid cyst: A rare case report and diagnostic challenges
Macroscopic examination of the resected specimen reveals cystic lesion in the head of the pancreas. (Arrow: cyst wall). Key Clinical Message In cystic lesions of the pancreas, hydatid cyst should be considered in the differential diagnoses and its presence should be ruled out before any invasive interventions.

Abstract Background & Aims Liver stiffness measurement (LSM) by vibration‐controlled transient elastography (VCTE) is a non‐invasive diagnostic biomarker of liver fibrosis. It is uncertain if LSM can predict risk for future liver‐related outcomes in large, heterogenous populations.

Computer-aided hepatic tumour ablation [PDF]
Surgical resection of hepatic tumours is not always possible. Alternative techniques consist in locally using chemical or physical agents to destroy the tumour and this may be performed percutaneously. It requires a precise localisation of the tumour placement during ablation.

Cystic echinococcosis (CE) is a global health concern caused by cestodes. In this retrospective case study, Fourier transform infrared microscopy was explored for detecting and identifying CE through biochemical changes in human tissue sections. Results revealed the method's ability to distinguish echinococcus elements from human tissue, irrespective ...

Classification of Hepatic Lesions using the Matching Metric [PDF]
In this paper we present a methodology of classifying hepatic (liver) lesions using multidimensional persistent homology, the matching metric (also called the bottleneck distance), and a support vector machine. We present our classification results on a dataset of 132 lesions that have been outlined and annotated by radiologists.
