Expanded Hepatic Progenitor Cells Featured with Aggregation of α‐Synuclein Contribute to Pathologic Bile Duct Regeneration in Biliary Atresia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Expanded NCAM1+EpCAM+ hepatic progenitor cells in biliary atresia are characterized by aggregation of α‐synuclein. This pathological protein potentiates cellular susceptibility to GSH‐dependent redox dyshomeostasis, induces unstable biliary cell fate specification, and subsequently drives aberrant biliary regeneration.

Effect of infrahepatic inferior vena cava clamping on bleeding during hepatic resection: A meta-analysis

open access: yesAsian Journal of Surgery, 2018
Summary: This meta-analysis aimed to explore the effect of infrahepatic vena cava (IVC) clamping on bleeding during hepatic resection. PubMed and Embase databases were searched systematically to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing ...

MRI-guided percutaneous thermoablation as first-line treatment of recurrent hepatic malignancies following hepatic resection: single center long-term experience

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hyperthermia, 2021
Purpose Hepatic recurrence of liver malignancies is a leading problem in patients after liver resection with curative intention. Thermoablation is a promising treatment approach for patients after hepatic resection, especially in liver-limited conditions.

Biomimetic Macrophage Cell Membrane‐Based Nanoparticles for Effective Treatment of Glioblastoma Through Boron Neutron Capture Therapy Combined With Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains largely incurable due to the blood‐brain barrier (BBB) and immunosuppressive microenvironment. While boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) selectively eradicates tumor cells via 10B(n, α)‐7Li reactions, its clinical potential in GBM is unrealized because of the suboptimal pharmacokinetics of conventional ...

Preoperative CT and survival data for patients undergoing resection of colorectal liver metastases

open access: yesScientific Data
The liver is a common site for the development of metastases in colorectal cancer. Treatment selection for patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) is difficult; although hepatic resection will cure a minority of CRLM patients, recurrence is ...

Resection of hepatic tumors with central venous and right atrial extension using cardiopulmonary bypass

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports, 2018
Background: Pediatric liver tumors occasionally present with vascular invasion. Standard anatomic resections usually result in complete resection when tumor is intra-hepatic; however, direct tumor extension into the inferior vena cava (IVC) and right ...

Significant impact of cachexia index on the outcomes after hepatic resection for colorectal liver metastases

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, 2022
Introduction The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between preoperative cachexia index (CXI) and long‐term outcomes in patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) after hepatic resection.

Long-term quality of life after hepatic resection: health is not simply the absence of disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
BACKGROUND: Due to advances in operative methods and perioperative care, mortality and morbidity following major hepatic resection have decreased substantially, making long-term quality of life (QoL) an increasingly prominent issue.

Ultra‐Radiostable Covalent Conformationally Interlocked Networks Enabling a Universal Radiometal‐Labeling Platform for Cancer Radioembolization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conjugated poly(imide dioxime)‐based microspheres establish a radiometal coordination‐driven conformational interlocked network with ultra‐high radiostability. This platform enables low‐temperature, multi‐radionuclide labeling for SPECT/PET/MRI imaging and radionuclide therapy. Mechanistic insights from EXAFS and DFT reveal enhanced stability, while in

The effect of routine lymphadenectomy of the hepatic basin on the duration of the liver resection due to colorectal carcinoma metastases [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled, 2019
Background/Aim. Today, lymphatic metastases are only a relative contraindication for the surgical treatment of colorectal carcinoma (CRC). The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of routine lymphadenectomy of the hepatic basin on the duration of
