Circulating miRNA-122 levels are associated with hepatic necroinflammation and portal hypertension in HIV/HCV coinfection. [PDF]
BACKGROUND:Introduction of combined antiretroviral therapy (cART) has improved survival of HIV infected individuals, while the relative contribution of liver-related mortality increased.

Effect of poorly absorbable antibiotics on hepatic venous pressure gradient in cirrhosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis. [PDF]
BACKGROUND The effects of poorly/non-absorbable antibiotics on hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) are debated. AIM To analyze the effects of rifaximin or norfloxacin on HVPG and on markers of bacterial translocation and proinflammatory ...

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Beta blockers in portal hypertension. Are they really a good option?
Non-selective beta blockers are very useful drugs in preventing first variceal bleeding and re-bleeding in patients with cirrhosis. These drugs work in two ways: 1) by blocking β1 receptors and reducing cardiac output, and 2) by blocking β2 receptors ...

FeS‐VA@lanifibranor (FVL), an activated hepatic stellate cell (aHSC)‐targeted nanoplatform comprising vitamin A‐functionalized two‐dimensional iron sulfide nanosheets and lanifibranor, is engineered for precision therapy of liver fibrosis. FVL suppresses the TGF‐β signaling pathway by inhibiting SMAD2/3 phosphorylation and induces ferroptosis in aHSCs,

Diabetic wound healing is hindered by a pathological crosstalk wherein elevated IL‐11 induces M1 macrophage polarization, leading to IL‐1β/IL‐6 release and subsequent fibroblast senescence via RAS/p38MAPK/p53/E2F1 signaling. Here, we develop a Gel@M‐Rho microneedle patch that delivers rhoifolin‐loaded, macrophage membrane‐coated nanoparticles to target
