Single-domain antibodies and their formatting to combat viral infections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Since their discovery in the 1990s, single-domain antibodies (VHHs), also known as NanobodiesA (R), have changed the landscape of affinity reagents. The outstanding solubility, stability, and specificity of VHHs, as well as their small size, ease of ...

Diversity of core antigen epitopes of hepatitis B virus [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2003
Core antigen (cAg), the viral capsid, is one of the three major clinical antigens of hepatitis B virus. cAg has been described as presenting either one or two conformational epitopes involving the “immunodominant loop.” We have investigated cAg antigenicity by cryo-electron microscopy at ≈11-Å resolution of capsids labeled with monoclonal Fabs ...

Evaluating the Antiviral Efficacy of Encapsulated PKC Inhibitor BIM‐I against influenza A Virus Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores nanoparticle delivery of the protein kinase C inhibitor bisindolylmaleimide‐I (BIM‐I) to combat influenza A virus infections. Encapsulation in biodegradable PLGA nanoparticles improved safety while maintaining the compound's strong antiviral activity.

CHB‐Induced Immune Zonation Chaos Elicited LXRα‐mediated Lipid Metabolism Disorders in Kupffer Cells to Induce Cancer Stem Cell Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By profiling the spatiotemporal hepatic landscape of CHB mouse models, the originally peri‐portal localized KCs migrated to the peri‐central in a CXCL9‐CXCR3‐dependent manner, facilitating their interaction with HBV+ hepatocytes. The interaction promoted LMD in KCs through ASGR1‐induced LXRα degradation, which, in turn, induced CSC formation via Stat3 ...

IMMUNOGENIC PROPERTIES OF RECOMBINANT MOZAIC PROTEINS BASED ON ANTIGENS NS4A AND NS4B OF HEPATITIS C VIRUS

open access: yesВопросы вирусологии, 2018
The aim of the study was to investigate immunogenic properties of mosaic recombinant proteins constructed on the data of hepatitis C virus NS4A and NS4B antigens.

Community-Based Screening for Hepatitis B and C Infectivity Using Two Quantitative Antigens to Identify Endemic Townships

open access: yesViruses, 2022
Screening and linkage to care are essential to achieve viral hepatitis elimination before 2030. The accurate identification of endemic areas is important for controlling diseases with geographic aggregation.

p16Ink4a‐Positive Hepatocytes Drive Liver Fibrosis Through Activation of LIFR Family Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study found that, following the long‐term CCl4 treatment, p16high hepatocytes appeared in zone 3, spatially co‐localizing with fibrotic areas. A specific cluster of p16high hepatocytes upregulated CTF1/LIF expression which induced HSC activation and further liver fibrosis, as revealed by single cell transcriptomic analysis.

T cell--associated immunoregulation and antiviral effect of oxymatrine in hydrodynamic injection HBV mouse model

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica Sinica B, 2017
Although oxymatrine (OMT) has been shown to directly inhibit the replication of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in vitro, limited research has been done with this drug in vivo.

Microglial Fkbp5 Impairs Post‐Stroke Vascular Integrity and Regeneration by Promoting Yap1‐Mediated Glycolysis and Oxidative Phosphorylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).
