Using Enzyme-Linked Aptamer Assay to Detect Hepatitis B Surface Antigen in Comparison to Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay

open access: yesمجله دانشکده پزشکی اصفهان, 2018
Background: Clinical diagnostic kits for detecting hepatitis B are based on antibodies, and have inefficient sensitivity, stability, and cost. Therefore, researches about aptamers and using them instead of antibodies may make these defects up.

Carbohydrate Composition of Hepatitis B Surface Antigen

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1977
The content and composition of carbohydrate in hepatitis B surface antigen HBsAg) were clarified by gas chromatography. A value of 75-8 microgram carbohydrate per mg of protein was obtained. The main components were N-acetylglucosamine, mannose, galactose and sialic acid and the minor one was fucose. No N-acetyl-galactosamine was detected.

Action Mechanisms and Scientific Rationale of Using Nasal Vaccine (HeberNasvac) for the Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis B

open access: yesVaccines, 2022
Nasvac (HeberNasvac®) is a novel therapeutic vaccine for chronic hepatitis B (CHB). This product is a formulation of the core (HBcAg) and surface (HBsAg) antigens of the hepatitis B virus (HBV), administered by nasal and subcutaneous routes, in a ...

Molecular detection of hepatitis delta virus in blood donors with RT-PCR

open access: yesMedical Laboratory Journal, 2015
Background and Objective: Hepatitis delta virus is an imperfect virus with RNA and its activity depends on the presence of hepatitis B virus. This virus can lead to acute and chronic diseases in the liver.

Randomised controlled trial: effect of metformin add-on therapy on functional cure in entecavir-treated patients with chronic hepatitis B

open access: yesAnnals of Hepatology, 2022
Introduction and Objectives: Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) clearance, indicating functional cure or resolved chronic hepatitis B (CHB), remains difficult to achieve via nucleos(t)ide analogue monotherapy.

A simple-to-use score system for predicting HBsAg clearance to peginterferon alfa-2b in nucleoside analogs-experienced chronic hepatitis B patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2023
ObjectivePatients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) often fail to achieve clearance of the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) with peginterferon treatment.

Chemiluminescent Optical Fiber Immunosensor Combining Surface Modification and Signal Amplification for Ultrasensitive Determination of Hepatitis B Antigen

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Optical fiber based immunosensors are very attractive for biomarker detection. In order to improve the sensor response, we propose a promising strategy which combines porous-layer modification of the fiber surface and streptavidin-biotin-peroxidase nano ...

Atopological Model for Hepatitis B Surface Antigen

open access: yesIntervirology, 1992
A model of hepatitis B surface antigen has been derived, based on extensive sequence analysis and biochemical data. The surface antigen sequences of the human, woodchuck, ground squirrel and duck hepadnaviruses were examined using hydrophobicity, hydrophobic moments, flexibility and secondary structure prediction.
