Novel Wide‐Spectrum Virucidal Lipid Nanoparticles

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
POSTAN is a novel broad‐spectrum antiviral nanoparticle that combines safety with potent virucidal activity. Composed of biocompatible lipids, it mimics heparan sulfate proteoglycans and lipid rafts exploited by viruses, thereby dismantling viral envelopes and blocking replication.

Lipid Nanoparticles for Delivery of CRISPR Gene Editing Components

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
The review presents a comprehensive overview of each component of lipid nanoparticles(LNPs)and their effects on editing efficiency. It specifically highlights strategies for achieving non‐liver delivery, aiming for broader applications in gene editing. Furthermore, this review summarizes the applications of LNPs in gene editing and offers insights for ...

Distinct 5′ UTR Requirements for Translation of the Bicistronic X/P mRNA Among Avian Orthobornaviruses

open access: yesMicrobiology and Immunology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Orthobornaviruses express X and the phosphoprotein (P) from a bicistronic X/P mRNA, and these proteins regulate polymerase activity. In mammalian orthobornaviruses, the 5′ untranslated region (5′ UTR) of the X/P mRNA controls the translational balance between X and P and thereby promotes efficient replication.

Humanized Mouse Models as a Cellular Platform for Investigating Immune‐Hormonal Crosstalk and Therapeutic Strategies in Menopause

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Humanized mice offer new insight into immune‐hormonal changes during menopause. Traditional models lack accuracy in replicating human menopause physiology. Functional foods may ease symptoms but need testing in human‐relevant systems. Combining humanized mice with diet research can improve women's health outcomes.

Live Zoster Vaccination and the Reduced Risk of Chronic Respiratory Diseases: An Emulated Target Trial

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This emulated target trial investigated the risk of developing chronic respiratory diseases (COPD, asthma, and ILD) associated with live zoster vaccination using a nationwide, population‐based cohort of individuals aged ≥ 50 years in South Korea. Live zoster vaccination significantly reduced the risk of COPD, asthma, and ILD, and reduced hospital ...

Meta‐Analysis: High anti‐HBs Titers are Associated with Significantly Reduced Risk of Hepatitis B Virus Reactivation During Rituximab Treatment

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
This meta‐analysis demonstrates a significantly lower risk for HBV reactivation on rituximab if anti‐HBs is > 100 iU/L (3.5%, CI: 1.8%–6.9%) vs. anti‐HBs between 10 and 100 iU/L (13.8%, CI: 8.8%–20.8%) and anti‐HBs negative (27.3%, CI: 20.0%–36.0%). Thus, if anti‐HBs titer is > 10 iU/L, monitoring could be considered.
