Characterization of the Immune Response after Oral Cholera Vaccination (OCV) and Effects of Mycophenolate Mofetil on Priming of this Immune Response—A Randomized, Placebo‐Controlled Trial

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) is an immunosuppressive drug widely used by solid organ transplant recipients. Although it is known that MMF suppresses immune responses, its exact effects on specific vaccinations have not been investigated yet. Mucosal vaccinations are increasingly used, such as a cholera vaccination consisting of two oral immunizations ...

Adverse Reactions Identified after Approval of Novel Medicines: Analysis of 339 New Molecular Entities and Therapeutic Biologics

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Postmarketing safety surveillance data identify safety issues not identified in preapproval clinical trials. We describe the frequency of new safety issues overall and by labeling section and the relationship of the most commonly added safety issues with the cumulative number of prescriptions dispensed via retail pharmacies.

Diagnostic Usefulness of Cell Block Samples in Fluid Overload‐Associated Large B‐Cell Lymphoma

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fluid overload‐associated B‐cell lymphoma (FO‐LBCL) is a B‐cell neoplasm that presents as serous effusions without detectable tumor masses and Kaposi sarcoma‐associated herpesvirus (KSHV)/human herpesvirus 8 (HHV8) infection. Here, we report a case of an 81‐year‐old female patient with FO‐LBCL (Stage IVA) who presented with pericardial and ...

Expression of mutant TIE2 p.L914F during mouse development causes embryonic lethality and defects in vascular remodeling

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Sporadic venous malformation (VM) is associated with the hyperactivating p.L914F mutation in TIE2, a receptor tyrosine kinase essential for vascular development. This mutation is not found in hereditary VM, suggesting incompatibility with life when expressed during early vascular development.

Hepatic Mechanisms and Therapeutic Target Underpinning Hypercoagulation in Obesity: Insights From Genetic and Transcriptomic Analyses

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
Obesity‐linked hypercoagulation is driven by fibrinogen overproduction in a specific hepatocyte cluster via IL6 signalling. Genetic and mechanistic studies reveal this pathway as a key target for therapies to mitigate clotting risks and associated complications in obese individuals.
