Secreted Nonstructural Protein 3 is a Pathogenic Determinant of Orbivirus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a conserved PIP2‐dependent secretory pathway of orbivirus NS3 that induces vascular leakage. Pharmacological disruption of PIP2‐NS3 interaction significantly reduces viral pathogenicity and provides protective efficacy in murine models, establishing PIP2‐mediated NS3 secretion as both a key virulence determinant and a promising ...

Anti-ENA antibody profile in hepatitis C patients undergoing hemodialysis

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Kidney Diseases and Transplantation, 2011
Infection with hepatitis C virus (HCV) is increasing all over the world, especially among hemodialysis patients. HCV is one of the major autoantibody inducing viruses, where anti-nuclear antibodies (ANA), anti-smooth muscle antibodies (ASMA), anti-liver ...

Injecting Drug Users' Understanding of Hepatitis C [PDF]

open access: yes
Most Australians who have hepatitis C contracted the virus through the shared use of drug injecting equipment. Further, the prevalence and incidence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) are high among Australian injecting drug users (IDUs), around 50 to 60 percent

Master Regulator SMC1A, Stabilized by N6‐Methyladenosine Reader IGF2BP1, Promotes HCC Progression Through Facilitating Enhancer–Promoter Interaction of Nestin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IGF2BP1‐mediated m6A stabilization sustains SMC1A expression, enabling cohesin‐associated chromatin regulation of Nestin in hepatocellular carcinoma. This work reveals an epitranscriptomic‐chromatin‐cytoskeletal regulatory axis linked to malignant phenotypes and identifies SMC1A as a biologically relevant vulnerability in HCC.

Surgical Outcomes and Recurrence Management in Borderline Resectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Implications for Multidisciplinary Strategies

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Multivariate analysis identified that up‐to‐7 out (p < 0.001), lymph node metastasis (p < 0.001), and non‐anatomical resection (p = 0.02) were independent predictors of cancer recurrence, while older age (p = 0.01), Child‐Pugh B (p < 0.001), up‐to‐7 out (p = 0.01), macrovascular invasion (p = 0.01), and lymph node metastasis (p < 0.001) were ...

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Remission, a term used to describe a goal of treatment for some chronic diseases, has recently been proposed for chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). However, it is unclear what remission means for CRS and why it should serve as a goal in the present‐day treatment of CRS.
