Carcinogenicity of heptachlor and chlordane
Science of The Total Environment, 19761. FDA study on heptachlor and heptachlor epoxide, Davis, 19651 This study was conducted with initial groups of 100 male and 100 female C3H mice of unspecified initial age, which were each fed heptachlor or heptachlor epoxide. Data were reported for both sexes combined in summary memorandum form j .

The Determination of the Water Solubility of Aldrin, Dieldrin, Heptachlor, and Heptachlor Epoxide
Journal of Economic Entomology, 1968Water-solubility studies were made with aldrin, dieldrin, heptachlor, and heptachlor epoxide. The solubility curves indicate an initial drop followed by a significant increase in solubility occurring during the first 3 or 4 days before a plateau is reached.

Histopathology of Carcinomas of the Liver in Mice Ingesting Heptachlor or Heptachlor Epoxide
Experimental Cell Biology, 2008C3H male and female mice, ingesting 10 ppm of the pesticides heptachlor or heptachlor epoxide in the diet, developed highly significant incidences of carcinomas of the liver. The carcinomas varied from well-differentiated to poorly differentiated and undifferentiated and were capable of invasion and metastasis.

Oral Toxicity Studies with Heptachlor and Heptachlor Epoxide in Young Calves
Journal of Economic Entomology, 1959Oral toxicity studies using 13 dairy calves, 1 to 2 weeks old, showed that heptachlor epoxide was approximately 10 times as toxic as heptachlor. Both heptachlor and heptachlor epoxide accumulated to produce poisoning when given in multiple doses. A dosage level of 0.2 mg./kg.

Abstract Since field ecosystems are so complex, a dynamic laboratory riverine microcosm was set up to observe the persistence and fate of heptachlor. The microcosm included aqueous, biotic, and sediment compartments capable of physical, chemical, and biological processes. Heptachlor, nutrients, and water were added to the system at a constant rate of

The distribution of insecticide residues in soil and rutabagas, after soil and surface treatments with heptachlor, was studied by gas-liquid chromatography. Granular heptachlor at 6.6 kg/ha was incorporated into the top 1.27 to 1.90 cm of soil and heptachlor emulsion was applied three times at 4.48 kg/ha on the soil surface.

Heptachlor epoxide in marine mammals
Science of The Total Environment, 1981The presence of heptachlor epoxide in harbour seals (Phoca vitulina) and white-beaked dolphins (Lagenorhynchus albirostris) has been confirmed by chemical derivatization and mass spectrometric analyses. An unknown compound at a retention time close to half of heptachlor epoxide interfered in the determination by electron capture detector-gas ...
