Herbicide safeners: Tools for improving the efficacy and selectivity of herbicides
Journal of Environmental Science and Health - Part B Pesticides, Food Contaminants, and Agricultural Wastes, 1996Abstract Safeners (also known as antidotes) are chemical or biological agents that reduce the toxicity of herbicides to crop plants by a physiological or molecular mechanism. Commercialized safeners are mainly chemical compounds that enhance the tolerance of selected grass crops such as maize (Zea mays L.), grain sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench ...

The Affect of Dew on Herbicide and Adjuvant Efficacy
2016Dew is often present on foliage early in the morning when wind velocity may be at its lowest. The latter makes this time of day tempting for postemergence herbicide application to minimize spray particle drift. Herbicide applicators may not wish to wait to apply postemergence herbicide until the dew on the leaves dries.

Guideline for the efficacy evaluation of herbicides
EPPO Bulletin, 1989The biological evaluation of a herbicide involves a programme of trials for assessment of efficacy in weed control and of selectivity to the crop. Trials may be used for efficacy evaluation or selectivity evaluation according to weed occurrence, provided the conditions specified in the guideline are satisfied. This guideline gives detailed instructions ...

2010
The objectives of the 2009 BASF Herbicide Efficacy Trial were to compare the effectiveness of Drive XLR8 to Drive 75DF in order to demonstrate enhanced efficacy, and to compare Drive XLR8 to other postemergence crabgrass herbicides applied at a multi-leaf (2 to 4 leaf) stage and at a multi-tiller (1 to 2 tiller) stage.

Herbicide Efficacy in a Seed Crop of Okra
PANS, 1979Abstract Pre-plant and pre-emergence herbicides were tested for effective weed control in a seed crop of okra during 1974–75 and 1975–76. All treatments significantly decreased the weed population and increased the seed yield as compared to the unweeded control.

Herbicidal efficacy and selectivity of pyribenzoxim in turfgrasses
Weed Biology and Management, 2006Three field trials were conducted from 2003–2004 at Utsunomiya University, Japan, to evaluate the safety and herbicidal activity of pyribenzoxim (benzophenone O‐[2,6‐bis[(4,6‐dimethoxy‐2‐pyrimidinyl)oxybenzoyl]oxime) in turfgrass. Pyribenzoxim showed a high level of safety in bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Huds.) and zoysiagrass (Zoysia matrella) ≤ 300 ...

Efficacy of Post Emergence Herbicides in Groundnut
LEGUME RESEARCH - AN INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL, 2020Background: Groundnut encounters severe infestation of weed especially during the early stages of growth due to less crop canopy which allows higher weeds growth and thus crop becomes more susceptible to weed competition. During rainy season, effective and economical weed control is not possible through manual and mechanical weeding due to unfavorable ...

Herbicide Efficacy for Production of Container Ornamentals
Weed Technology, 1993A study was conducted to evaluate efficacy of 17 PRE herbicides on seven weed species that are important competitors in container-grown ornamentals. Treatments included napropamide, metolachlor, acifluorfen, lactofen, oxyfluorfen, oryzalin, pendimethalin, prodiamine, trifluralin, isoxaben, oxadiazon, simazine and combination products.

Development of a nanoemulsion bioherbicide and its herbicidal efficacy
Pest Management ScienceAbstractBACKGROUNDBioherbicide applications are environmental‐friendly approaches to control weeds toward sustainable agriculture. Hence, the current research focused on developing a ready‐to‐use nanoemulsion bioherbicide from the current less economical WeedLock bioherbicide, furthermore evaluating its weed control efficacy.

Investigations of the efficacy of the herbicide topramezone
