Metabolism of the thiocarbamate herbicide SUTAN® in rats
Xenobiotica, 19911. The metabolism of the thiocarbamate herbicide SUTAN (butylate) was studied after administration of single oral doses of [isobutyl-1-14C]SUTAN to male and female rats. 2. The radiolabelled dose was rapidly absorbed and excreted, with 79% of the dose excreted in the urine in 72 h.

Metabolic fates of herbicides in animals
1975Many general aspects of the subjects were covered by the two previous reviews. Important recent changes in handling harvested cereal grains include more bulk transportation--particularly containerisation, processing closer to the site of production, resistance topesticides in many granivorous insects and the alarmingly unpredictable cross-resistance ...

Metabolic acidosis in prometryn (triazine herbicide) self-poisoning
Clinical Toxicology, 2008Prometryn is a triazine herbicide, which is one of the most extensively used groups of herbicides. The mechanism of acute triazine herbicide toxicity in humans is not known. We report a first case of acute prometryn poisoning.A 62-year-old male ingested 50 g of prometryn and ethanol in a suicide attempt.

The metabolism of the herbicide diphenamid in rats
Biochemical Pharmacology, 1965Abstract The in vivo metabolism of the herbicide diphenamid (N.N-dimethyldiphenyl-acetamide) was studied in rats. The compound appeared to be well absorbed and relatively easily metabolized to excretable metabolites. The main route of metabolism was found to be N-dealkylation to nordiphenamid which in turn was excreted as an N-glucuronide.

Tobacco cytochrome P450 (CYP) 71AH11 metabolized the herbicide chlorotoluron, and its mRNA level was increased in tobacco culture cells by the treatment of 2,4-D. In order to clarify molecular mechanisms of induced gene expression of CYP71AH11 by herbicide treatment, a 1574-bp 5'-flanking region of CYP71AH11 was cloned, ligated to the reporter β ...

Metabolism of Herbicides by Cytochrome P450 in Corn
Drug Metabolism and Drug Interactions, 1995Cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (P450) have long been considered a potentially important enzyme system for the detoxification of herbicides in corn and other crop plants. Only recently has herbicide metabolism by P450 in corn microsomes been conclusively demonstrated. Fourteen herbicides in six chemical families have been shown to be metabolized by P450
