Current state of herbicides in herbicide‐resistant crops

Pest Management Science, 2014
AbstractCurrent herbicide and herbicide trait practices are changing in response to the rapid spread of glyphosate‐resistant weeds. Growers urgently needed glyphosate when glyphosate‐resistant crops became available because weeds were becoming widely resistant to most commonly used selective herbicides, making weed management too complex and time ...

Herbicide Detoxification: Herbicide Selectivity in Crops and Herbicide Resistance in Weeds

2005
Crop selectivity is important in allowing weeds to be controlled by herbicides without damage to the crop. Often tolerant crops have more rapid and complete detoxification of a herbicide than occurs in sensitive crop species and weeds. A number of enzymatic systems are able to detoxify herbicides in plants.
