Pod vodstvom Zemaljskog muzeja u Sarajevu provedeno je rekognosciranje speleoloških objekata kao potencijalnih arheoloških nalazišta na području istočne Hercegovine. Pregledane su ukupno 63 špilje, od kojih je tridesetak dalo pozitivne arheološke rezultate. Većina prikupljenih nalaza potječe iz razdoblja od početka neolitika do kraje pretpovijesti.

Alona hercegovinae n. sp. (Cladocera: Chydoridae), a blind cave-inhabiting Cladoceran from Hercegovina (Yugoslavia)

Two interesting chydorid Cladocera were found in caves of Hercegovina and are described here. The pantropical Alona diaphana King, 1853 was already known in this part of Europe, but was found in a cave environment for the first time.
