A Human Kidney Tubuloid Model of Repeated Cisplatin‐Induced Cellular Senescence and Fibrosis for Drug Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Replicating aging and senescence‐related pathophysiological responses in kidney organoids remains a significant challenge. Human adult renal tubular organoid, tubuloids, are successfully developed recapitulating cellular senescence that is the central pathophysiological mechanism of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Une frontière ouverte à tous les vents : la construction de l’identité collective de l’île de Kinmen

open access: yesIn Situ, 2019
Kinmen Island, only about 10 kilometres away from mainland China, is located opposite the city of Xiamen, Fujian Province. After retreating from the mainland in 1949, Chiang Kai-shek fled to Taiwan and made this island a military base where the KMT (the ...

A 3D Bioprinted Spheroid‐Laden dECM‐Enriched Osteosarcoma Model for Enhanced Drug Testing and Therapeutic Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D biomimetic OS model was developed by bioprinting an OS‐cell‐derived dECM‐enriched bioink with OS spheroids incorporated. The model showed upregulation of known OS prognostic markers and increased resistance to doxorubicin, compared to 2D cultures and scaffold‐free spheroids, making this a more clinically relevant platform for drug discovery ...

Kidney Organoids in Drug Development: Integrating Technological Advances and Standardization for Effective Implementation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how emerging enabling technologies enhance the physiological relevance, scalability, and reproducibility of kidney organoids, while advanced analytical approaches support model validation and deepen mechanistic insight into nephrotoxicity.

The Influence of Physical Features upon the History of Rhode Island [PDF]

open access: yes, 1910
To affirm that the physical features of the State of Rhode Island have influenced its history is not to deny that the character of its early settlers has exerted an equal, or perhaps a greater influence.

From RNA to DNA: How Cargo Identity Reprograms Lipid Nanoparticle Architecture and Function

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The evolution of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) spans from RNA‐LNPs, used in mRNA vaccines, to DNA‐LNPs, ideal for gene therapies. Emerging bionano architectures, decorated with DNA and plasma proteins, pave the way for advanced DNA‐based therapies that are more stable, targeted, and customizable.

Weakly Lindelof determined Banach spaces not containing $\ell^1(N)$

open access: yes, 1992
The class of countably intersected families of sets is defined. For any such family we define a Banach space not containing $\ell^{1}(\NN )$. Thus we obtain counterexamples to certain questions related to the heredity problem for W.C.G.

Darwin on Variation and Heredity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Darwin's ideas on variation, heredity, and development differ significantly from twentieth-century views. First, Darwin held that environmental changes, acting either on the reproductive organs or the body, were necessary to generate variation.

Potent Liver‐Tropic mRNA Lipid Nanoparticles: ApoE‐Mediated Delivery Through a Low‐Density Lipoprotein Receptor Independent Uptake Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Helper and ionizable lipids play a crucial role in determining ApoE binding and subsequent liver tropism and LDLR‐mediated uptake. Ionizable lipids primarily govern the LDLR‐independent uptake pathway. This complementary interplay between lipid components ultimately governs LNP delivery performance and therapeutic efficacy in the liver.
